Mismatched barrel and gas block sizes?

Mismatched barrel and gas block sizes?
I'm building up a large frame AR in 6.5CM, but trying to keep the weight as low as possible, since these guns tend to be heavy as sin anyway. Precision Rifles.....show em!!
Remington 700 Varmint in 308 Winchester, cut down to 20" and threaded, installed in XLR Element chassis, running a Viper 6.5-20x50 in Warne QD rings on a Nightforce 20MOA rail.
