Slide 6: There are 4 wave profiles here. The front (dark blue) is the wave profile from the mil spec mic location for the bolt action rifle. This also serves as a baseline comparison. The other 3 profiles are Mil Left, Mil Right and Shooter’s Ear for the same ammunition in the semi-auto rifle...
Slide 5: Shooter’s ear wave profiles for supersonic vs subsonic ammo. The 4 events defined in the previous slide are visible for both ammunitions. The 4 events just happen sooner/faster for the supersonic ammunition. The peaks for the gas reaching the BCG and for the BCG opening are both louder...
Slide 4: Semi vs Bolt with subsonic ammo at the shooter’s ear. The blue profile (bolt action) is the baseline for how quiet that suppressor/ammo/length of barrel can be at the shooter’s ear. The grey waveform shows the additional sound signature caused from the semi-auto weapon system. There are...
Slide 3: Shooter’s ear profiles in Pascals for subsonic and supersonic ammo on bolt action showing the presence of the supersonic crack for the supersonic ammo vs no crack on the subsonic ammo

The AHAAH software seems really good on the surface and I like the idea of a daily exposure limit. However I do not like how the data is imported into AHAAH. You import your .wave file and then input what your units and peak value are. This is a method that is rife with error and/or funny business.

I wouldn't advise shaving down the notches that keep the bipod deployed at 90degrees. It would make it so any reward pressure on the rifle from positioning or shooting would cause the legs to go into the stowed position.
The pulse is the only reason we have the confidence to test indoors and trust the data. We can estimate when reflections are going to show up in the data mathematically using the speed of the bullet and speed of sound. Assuming for easy math the bullet is traveling 3000ft/sec and speed of sound...

Have a buddy that has one of these and I've been impressed with how it shoots. The 6.5CM comes in at 5.8# so with the right scope and bipod you'd be right at 8.5# or maybe...
I wish that were enforecable across the industry. It's difficult to play nice within the industry and at the same time point out bad data. After the Discrete Ballistics demo in New Hampshire where the B&K rep orientated the microphones actively (parallel with the sound wave direction) rather...
