    6.5 Creedmoor gas length question

Just to follow up I purchased the jp barrel, bolt, adjustable gas block and operating system. It feeds 100% with everything I tried in it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the carbon fiber lancer hand guard. It’s very lightweight and good looking but isn’t very solid. To as accurate as I...

What twist rate are you using?

McMillan or B&C (Tikka T3x CTR)

I personally like the krg stocks for that rifle but The McMillan and manners are the top notch Fiberglass stocks.

    Kelbly's Atlas Tactical

A lot of records have been made using kelbys actions. If it has the features and look you want I say go with it.

    TriggerTech Diamond

I have a trigger tech in my ar10. If your real slow and light on the trigger it feels heavier then the advertised pull weight. I haven’t put a gauge in it as I don’t care that much. I’m just comparing it to my jewel, rifle basic, and gieselle. I love the feel of it I would just buy the lighter...

6.5CM vs 270 WIN vs 308 Best all around hunting/entry long range rifle?

5 or 600 yards is well within the limits of a good 308. Hits with my Sako TRG 22 in 308 are easy out to 750. Beyond that you really need good ammo and perfect placement. I also have a 6.5 creedmoor. If I’m shooting beyond 750 then I use it. Both the 308 and 6.5 creedmoor have accurate...

    DTAC 115 in a 6 creedmoor??

I’m having a 6creedmoor built and am in the process of deciding on what loads to try. Of course I purchased some 105 Berger hybrid, hornady 108 and located some H4350. I also ordered some DTAC 115. All the info I found for the DTAC is a couple years old or very limited. Can you guys give me a...

    Hand loading 6mm creedmoor

I switched to 4451 enduron because I found it in 8lb and could not locate H4350. In my 6.5 creedmoor my accuracy node is 1 grain more with the enduron over the 4350 to get to the same speed. No pressure signs. Again this is for my 6.5 creedmoor not 6 creedmoor.

    300 b.o. parts suggestions.

I said integrally suppressed but I guess it would just be a standard setup with the hand guard covering Half of the supressor. The upper/lower hand guard set is the limited run 1776 American flag painted set. That why I think a silenced she would be fitting.

6.5 Creed Swipes and Blown primers w/ +2 gas

I run all jp internal parts and barrel. It shoots all the factory ammo i feed it unless I turn the gas block down to far. That includes a lot of the prime ammo and hornady American gunner which shoots surprisingly well. I would go with wild bill and say #2. Throat is to short.

    300 b.o. parts suggestions.

Do you run anything subsonic? That's really my purpose for this. Thabks.

    300 b.o. parts suggestions.

I have an aero precision parchment builders set I think would only be fitting to build a sbr integral suppressed 300 black out with. Since the black out has been out for a few years now I thinks it's safe to see what's been working for everyone. Barrel length, twist rate bcg etc.

Anyone using a JP thermal dissipator. Opinions?

Heat will destroy a barrel as fast as anything. If your gonna pony up for a jp barrel it seems foolish not to get the heat dissipator. I have 2. One in 223 an a 6.5 creedmoor build I did using their barrel kit. They shoot fantastic. The weight difference is compatible to having 10 rounds in the...

    Best gas/piston for the money?

I've been looking into a gas piston ar15 for quite some time now. Every time I think I made my mind up I find a bunch of complaints online. I have some high end direct impengment like jp precision ctr-02, built 6.5 creedmoor using all jp etc. So accuracy has to be good. I realize gas piston...

Anyone use Aero M5E1 Builder Set?

I built a 6.5 creedmoor using the m5 set. All jp precision internals anf barrel. Couldn't be happier with the accuracy and reliability. Not crazy about the Lancer carbon fiber hand guard. It doesnt get very tight. Do your research ahead of time to make sure you end up with a gun that cycles...

Gunsmithing Troubleshooting AR 6.5 CR Bolt doesn't go fully into Battery

Sounds like your over thinking it. You have several really good suggestions. Try factory ammo. It will probably work fine. If not then go from there.

    Gunsmithing Building a sbr legally?

I'm considering building an sbr upper. Trying to fully wrap my head around how the process works. I purchased silencers on the past so I understand how a tax stamp works. From what I read you have to apply for a specific length. How would that work if I also plan to purchase a silencer? Does it...

    6.5 Creedmoor gas length question

Wasn't sure if it was best to start a new post or ask here. From what I'm reading a short barrel ar10 6.5 creedmoor will be problematic for all but the most competent gun smith's. So for someone like myself that's not a barrel like the proof research 24" camgas with a +2 gas tube would make it...

    Thoughts on Savage's new MSR 10 6.5 Rifles...barrel Length ?'s

For factory guns I have always been happy with my savages. Would I put them up against a gun with a custom Bartlien or hawk hill barrel of course not. Thats the problem for me with the msr 10 even with its very nice features. The price is to close to what I can build one for with a high end...
