Gunsmithing CG X-Treme 2 Stage Trigger, Opinions Needed

Re: CG X-Treme 2 Stage Trigger, Opinions Needed It is a great trigger. It will adjust to anything you want. It is very robust and will not blow up if you blow a primer. Also the first stage is 100% adjustable. You can take it all out and it is a single stage. I switched from a Jewel, and I...

    Varget lot variances?

Re: Varget lot variances? I woud suggest buying as much powder as you can. Small lot variences are inevitable. Several years ago Varget changed enough lot to lot to cause some folks to walk away from it. For the last three years at least the lots have been pretty consistant. That being said I...

CCI BR-2 vs 200 LR Primers?

Re: CCI BR-2 vs 200 LR Primers? I use the 200's. The cups are a little softer and let me see the pressure sighns before the brass gives up. I think the 200's pack plenty of heat to fire anything that will fit in a 308 case.

Two stage triggers for bolt actions?

Re: Two stage triggers for bolt actions? I have 2 of the CG triggers from Xtreme shooting. I really like them. I used to use Jewel triggers. One pierced primer and the Jewel can be ruined, ask me how I know. The CG has an adjustable length of travel first stage, that can be left adjusted...

    Sierra 155smk's 2156 Palma

Re: Sierra 155smk's 6156 Palma Thanks for the comments. Sorry for the typo, I did mean 2156's. I have tried them with up to 46.5 gr of 4985 IMR, but they still were only about 2MOA. I have not chronoed them, but a 20" gas gun will be hard pressed to get to 2900. I did shoot them to 1K...

    Sierra 155smk's 2156 Palma

I purchased a large lot of Palma bullets hoping to load them up in bulk for my AR10. They don't seem to like the jump from mag length, or the 1:10 twist. Anyone here load any of these? Can you make them jump? By the way I have them up for trade for something heavier in the for trade section. Rob

    Levels

Re: Levels It has been my experience with all rifle mounted levels that consistancy is once again key. I use a USO swivel level. I have no idea if it is 100% correct, I doubt it is. What I am sure of though, is how I read it. Use your level as a point of reference. Line up with the same sight...

    Lake City brass?

Re: Lake City brass? I have used several hundred LC LR head stamped brass through a life cycle. It work hardens and the necks crack after 6-8 reloadings, but annealing can stop that. My best lot of brass went to the 8 or 9th loading, but you better check the inside of the brass for the...

    Why Cerakote?

Re: Why Cerakote? I have Cerakoted the internal moving parts behind the side plate of S&W revolvers. Pins, hammer, everything. The revolver was in very poor shape to begin with, so I figured no harm. It turned out very well. When applied correctly Cerakote is very thin. Rob
