I'm a big fan of 9mm AR's for fun at the range and 300 BLK for hunting / short range work. The 223 shorties are cool and all but 9mm is cheaper for practice and there's gun games I can play with them in USPSA etc. I get that people want to go the 223 route though for rifle ammo availability and...
I like the Deadline action I have. It's done everything I needed it to do and I trust it enough to loan it out to anyone at matches. We've had a new shooter, and a youth at that, run it at her first match and have a great time. At least good enough to run it again the following month. Too bad...
I'm doing something similar and I'm going off a buddy's build list. I'm going to do a JP LTC-19 with a Proof Barrel and JP BCG + Silent Captured Spring. I may do some Ti but I've always wanted to go with a carbon fiber barrel and keeping the weight off the barrel end is more important to me than...

Always brake, especially on a K can where I plan to use it on multiple hosts with short barrels. I doubt most of us will ever wear out a Sandman series baffle but it never hurts that you're putting more wear on the $80 mount instead of the can.
Just my thoughts, probably worth exactly what I was paid to write them.
How do you grow the sport?
Match directors that recognize the number 1 priority is ensuring the new guy has a good time have full matches. If the first match is a positive experience, the shooter WILL come back.

Sound gear makes an awesome product and with their, um, physical location they have access to some awesome tech. They are super cool to deal with as well.
