Re: Cyber Monday @ SWFA
Just got it. I like this one a lot better so I'm glad I held out on the Black Friday deal. Now I'll stay up til midnight tonight and finally get the scope.

Nobody buys the 8x40 mounts because factory guns come...
Re: NF or SWFA scope??
I don't think it's possible to go wrong with Nightforce. That being said I am anxiously awaiting for Black Friday so I can form my own opinion on the SS.
Re: No. Just No...
Pure genius... I knew a guy who ordered an instructional VHS tape off the internet on how to make a supressor out of stuff you can buy from the hardware store. The hardest part was actually finding a VCR to play it. He made it in his barracks room and wanted me to go to...
Re: 118 LR consistency is impressive
I recently did a comparisonand was also impressed with the consistency of M118LR. I chrono'd two 5 shot groups of 118LR and two 5 shot groups of Black Hills 175gr Match and these were the results:
M700 w/118LR (26" barrel)
AVG Muzzle Velocity: 2697 fps...
Re: 105 AMAX moly wont shoot in my .243
Well I just tossed them in the vibratory tumbler with some corn media and polishing compund. It worked pretty good as the only place you can tell there was ever any moly is the area around the plastic tip.
Re: 105 AMAX moly wont shoot in my .243
I guess it would be a lot easier to remove the moly because then I know they will shoot, rather then keep trying to develop an accurate load. I may be out of bullets or have a shot out barrel by that time.
I normally shoot 105 AMAX bullets in my 243 and it has shot under .4 MOA at 100 yards once I found a good load. I recently bought 800 moly coated 105 AMAX bullets off of a member here not knowing they were moly coated. Well I decided to keep them and give them a try rather than send them back...
Re: DPMS LR308 Question
I've had one for 5 years now and don't really shoot it that much because I have much more accurate rifles. Mine shoots between 1 and 1.5MOA with match ammo. I suppose if I rebarreled it accuracy would improve.
Re: Problem with long range data???
I agree with culpepper and lowlight. Those velocities seem too high from a 21" barrel. Start plugging in lower muzzle velocities on JBM and see if the results match up to your actual data. If so then your chronograph probably is off for one reason or...
