    Mixing brass lots, same headstamp.

On occasion I've beat the fixture for groups, but it's not usually the case. More likely to be the lucky circumstance of me counteracting poor dispersion with my (lack of) aiming ability. It's not huge, but probably averages ~0.1-0.15 MOA on the whole that the fixture is better than me.

    Mixing brass lots, same headstamp.

I wouldn't do it. As was mentioned above, testing the individual lots separately is the only way you can have confidence in it. Once it's mixed it's a real bastard (potentially impossible?) to sort. Hornady, for example, has several different "lines" that produce brass and there are minor...

    Groups are to small

Long term repeatable SD: Best: Single digit, 5-9fps (rare to see <8fps for a true SD over a large sample, but occasionally happens) Good/Common: 10-15fps Okayish: <20fps Group Size Best I've seen floats around 0.5-0.6 MOA Common for PRS style rifles is 0.6-1.2 MOA Thin profile and light...

4DOF Zero Angle is not "sticking"

Yep work flow looks solid. So typically we see either linear or non-linear errors. Linear errors are the same at every distance. I'm .2 high at 100, .2 high at 600, and .2 high at 1000. That's a zero issue, either with the app or the optic/shooter. Non-linear issues are more like perfect...

4DOF Zero Angle is not "sticking"

As a point of clarification, every time you enter the "Find zero angle" page, it clears the impact locations from the last time you entered it. It will always say 0,0. That button is to open a tool to calculate zero angle, and it doesn't store or remember the last inputs for the current ZA...

4DOF Zero Angle is not "sticking"

Please write out the complete list of variables you're inputting on the "Find zero angle" page, as well as the specs for building the rifle profile. I know it's a pain in the ass but it really helps to ensure when others try to replicate the issue they're doing the same thing you are. Often...

    7Prc not grouping

SAAMI is 1:8. Might explain some of the issues with the heavy bullets. Try 162s.

Diagnosing Case Separation and Bolt Lug Wear on 6 ARC Rifle

While I can't 100% rule out bullets/ammo without seeing/measuring the offenders, I will say it's very uncommon for our tipped bullets to show drastic BTO variation, enough to cause chamber interference. Again, not saying it can't or hasn't happened-- but it's VERY uncommon. It requires a few...

Best caliber for big game at 400 plus yards

7mm to .338 magnum. Personally think .338 is not worth it with the .30 cal bullets available. 7mm is noticeably better for recoil. My "big" hunting rifle is a 7PRC.

    Pin and weld suppressor?

I pinned a .338 Can on my .338 ARC barrel because I will never clean it and it will never wear out in my lifetime. Suppressors can go across state lines no problem, SBR's require 5320.a's.

First shot dry barrel or oiled barrel effects.

Oil isn't the worst idea for mid/long term storage, but before firing send a patch with alcohol then a dry patch. Tends to give about the best chance of not throwing the 1st shot somewhere weird, of all of the things I've tried.

NITROCELLULOSE - FROM IMPORT TO END PRODUCT

There's that new powder plant that was being built, and I haven't kept up with it, White River something? I think. Anyway I was truly surprised to see that start up because my opinion was (and still kind of is) that we've regulated ourselves out of that industry (and so many more). The water...

NITROCELLULOSE - FROM IMPORT TO END PRODUCT

I don't know much about the supply lines of the base material. I know there are some US manufacturers that nitrate cellulose, but no idea on what % that is. I believe I've heard that some comes from Canada, also. But as far as powder production, that is where the nitrocellulose is formed into...

    Does anyone stand with Berger?

It's actually pretty cool in my book. Berger pretty consistently holds awesome weight variation and they make great bullets. I'm not arguing that at all. But I see this come up a few times a year where people dismiss a bullet because they weigh 0.4gr variation or whatever, and it's like dude...

    Does anyone stand with Berger?

Infinition Doppler radar head over the last 6 years of being an engineer in the bullet plant at Hornady.

    Does anyone stand with Berger?

While this is kinda fun, it's probably more true than most people will know... Typical match bullets (all brands included) show roughly 5-15% ES on net drag across the recorded Mach regime. Drag variability induced by the weight variation in this topic is on the order of 0.5% in the worst case...
