Best RRS Setup for McMillan Stock?

Thanks for the input! I'm quite experienced when it comes to saddles. They are definitely sturdy, but might as well take the extra step if you can make it more sturdy.

Best RRS Setup for McMillan Stock?

There are many great rifle mounting options through Really Right Stuff (RRS). For those that have tried out several of them, is there any setup in particular that you would say is best for a McMillan A5 stock? The VYCE definitely seems like the most simple thing to use but I would think it would...

Hey all - New from Wisconsin

I'm originally from the Green Bay area. Plenty of farm land to shoot on in Wisconsin, I miss it. I wish there were more ranges, though. This is a pretty good website for resources, but feel free to ask any questions if you have them.

    Detachable Bottom Metal Compatibility?

You can definitely use a different bottom metal. If you want it to be 100% aesthetically pleasing, it CAN become pricey quickly. I don't have a Seekins on-hand to take a look at right now, but it's generally easiest to go from a smaller inlet to a larger one. This will ensure that there is no...

    SAVAGE G10 Mcrees Precision ?

What actions are you currently running on your two G7's? Although Savage actions can be decent after some truing, you would probably be better off going a different route. If you go with an affordable action that does not need to be blueprinted, such as a Tikka or Stiller Tac30, you will get a...

    .308 185gn Berger hybrid w/ varget issue

My go-to load for the 185s with large primer brass is 44.0 gr Varget. I've recently switched to small primer brass and I'm still working on the load, but it looks like 44.5 gr Varget is working the best. What's the max you guys have jumped the 185s and still have success?

    help me choose a bipod

For your application, I would go with the Harris BRM-S. They are great bipods. Most tend to lean towards an Atlas because of the few additional features, none of which you will need.

    RRS vyce vs hog saddle

If you're using a stock that has more of a rounded forend, I would definitely go with the RRS vyce. I've used both and they're both solid choices. What are you using for a tripod and mount? If it's in your budget, I would get the RRS ball mount to go along with the vyce. That would be the most...

    practice dummy

You can dry fire your rifle all you want. Assuming you have an action of decent quality, it will not cause any harm. Dry firing is some of the best practice you can do, so keep doing it. Using dummy rounds just to use dummy rounds doesn't have much of a benefit other than probably limiting the...

    Thoughts on MDT chassis?

I agree completely! They were great people to deal with and replied promptly to all emails. I've been seeing more of these chassis certificates on the prize tables recently and I hope to see more; I think shooters will really like them!

    Thoughts on MDT chassis?

I won this MDT chassis at a match and was really excited to go try it out so I put a prototype carbon barrel on it to test it out. I absolutely loved it! This setup in particular would be excellent for a female shooter; it's really lightweight yet balanced incredibly well.

Kestrel...do I really need one? I bought a 5700 Elite AB w/ LiNK but please keep the informative discussion going!

Agreed. You don't really have a need for the 5700 w/ AB and Link at this point. If money is not a concern, by all means get it. It will surely come in handy at some point in time. As long as you have a Kestrel that provides the DA reading, your golden.

Anyone using Timney's New Calvin Elite Custom 700 trigger?

If you are a trigger snob, it is definitely worth it. I've tried out the fully adjustable trigger with multiple different shoes and I loved it. I wouldn't say the trigger gives you any type of advantage, but it is a nice luxury to have.
