Larue Big Ultimate Upper, going the distance!

Great video. Was it a 6.5 CM ultimate upper?

LMT MWS barrel length and gas system differences

Completely agree. Nice to have a softer shooting MWS, but reliability is why I bought this rifle. I’d hate to mess with that.

LMT MWS barrel length and gas system differences

I wonder what effect it would have on the 20” barrel to cut it shorter? It would still have the rifle length tube, but I’m curious if the softer shooting rifle length is dependent on the extra barrel length as part of the equation.

    Time capsule

Out of curiosity I have been following those forums. Safe to say that very few people feel like this pistol is legit.

    Time capsule

If this is a restoration, It would seem that this would come back around in the sellers feedback? Seems he does a lot of high end sales and it doesn’t reflect that he’s misrepresented anything before. Interesting....

LMT MWS barrel length and gas system differences

Yes, I’d considered a 6.5 CM barrel as well. Might be the perfect package.

LMT MWS barrel length and gas system differences

I have a MWS with two barrels. A 16” SS and a 20” SS. There are different length gas tubes for each barrel with the 20” barrel having a rifle length tube. I’ve never had a malfunction with an MWS but there is always discussion about rifle being over-gassed with a standard 16” barrel. I’ve not...

Scar 20S. Bigger, heavier, more money. Sell me on this thing.

I could be mistaken, but sounds like you like the Scar 20s. ?

Scar 20S. Bigger, heavier, more money. Sell me on this thing.

I had been curious how the MK20 was received in the field. Good to know that it’s performing well.

Scar 20S. Bigger, heavier, more money. Sell me on this thing.

If I’m reading correctly, FN says the 20s comes with the super scar trigger. That’s a benefit that goes directly towards the higher cost.

Scar 20S. Bigger, heavier, more money. Sell me on this thing.

That’s good cause my targets are always exactly at 702 yards..... lol.

Scar 20S. Bigger, heavier, more money. Sell me on this thing.

It does look cool. I like the butt stock. More AX-ish and less UGG boot.

Scar 20S. Bigger, heavier, more money. Sell me on this thing.

Isn’t the MAIN reason people love the Scar 17 the weight savings, followed by a compact size? I’m sure the 20s will have Scar 17 reliability, but I think FN states all that increase only gets you to 1 MOA or so. Looks like it will come in around 11lbs without optics.

    WTB Vintage Green Redfield 3x9

True. I spend plenty of time with M14 collectors, and they/I spend inordinate amounts of money on gun parts, stocks, USGI parts, etc. That doesn’t mean the rifle is going to be miles better than current offerings, but when you want real stuff, you just want it...... On a side note, if I bump...

    Most important bolt action upgrades.

I realize the subject is a bit all over the place. I should narrow my questions down.

    Most important bolt action upgrades.

Is it common for people to overspend on rifles and fail to put enough time into load development and shooting skills for the higher quality rifle to even make a difference?

    Most important bolt action upgrades.

    I consider a factory rifle a Rem 700 or maybe a Tikka.

    Most important bolt action upgrades.

I’m partially writing this for myself, but also for guys that are going to search out this info in the future. For myself, I have a 308 Remington 700 that was trued but a previous owner. I wanted to upgrade the barrel and stock, but I figured that by the time I installed a new barrel and...

    Most important bolt action upgrades.

I guess I should throw this in as an option. Let’s say that someone was going to buy something and doesn’t already own a rifle. Building is expensive, but you get what you want out the gate. Is it worth the money for a custom rifle, for an average guy, or does it make more sense to buy a...
