    FTE and FTF both sounds like a mag issue. With new mags, sometimes there is too much pressure on the cartridge to the underside of the carrier. This can slow carrier movement in both directions and cause what you’re describing.

    I regularly shoot 6mm through my RC3. It will fit the RC3, but the bigger problem is the muzzle device. I had to take a 556 three prong and re-thread it to 5/8-24 for my barrel. Conversely, you could re-thread your barrel 1/2-28 and to it. Either way just be doubly sure to check your alignment...

    I think the one downside to this is that some suppressor companies like Surefire, make 1/2-28 muzzle devices that only work with 556 cans. With their system, a 556 suppressor physically will not mount to a 5/8-24 muzzle device.
