    IDF Mauser M-66 SP

If you really want to make it hard for yourself completing the rarest 66SP, here is what to look for. Zeiss in the 80'ies made a 2.5-10x52 with a large laser rangefinder mounted on top of the scope. The rangefinder had a built in servo that was coupled to the elevation turret. The system...

    French FRF2 Sniper rifle

This scope is for the HK G3 SG1 mounted in HK claw mount with integral 30mm rings. The numbers 75, 45, etc on the turret is the "bdc" for ranges below 100m mounted on the G3. Both scope and the original HK claw mount are pos on the G3. The scope and mount are too heavy and the mount wear out and...

Is something going on in Ukraine?

They don't have to invade. Russia's population is imploding. Average life expectancy for men was 59 years before the war. Average birth rate is 1.5.

    M28/76 Asev1 sniper

I am 97% sure the cam on that scope is calibrated for 7.62NATO ball with 147gr bullets in 24" or longer barrels. The cam for 168gr and heavier bullets usually only go to 600m due to the amount of elevation in one turn on this zero stop turret.

    M28/76 Asev1 sniper

The scope has a centered reticle that do not move in the field of view. Loosen the two small screws on the turrets and zero the rifle on 100m using the coin slots just as on any Leupold (except cw adjustments) Turn the loose BDC cam and align the "1" with the white dot below the bdc-cam...

Here's your chance to get a Walther WA 2000

Walther also made a bolt action sniper as an alternative at the time, the Walther JR Sniper in 308win. I knew the then Walther importer in Norway in the 70/80'ies well and was offered a WA2000 in all calibers, 308, 7,5x55 and 300winmag, for app $3000 at the time. I had just finished school...

    Scoped model 1917 rifles

If anybody want to build a fake P14/M1917 sniper, and have some "fun", it can be chambered for 338 Lapua Magnum without altering the external appearance.

Is something going on in Ukraine?

Time will tell. It seems like the russians are fleeing in panic and are leaving a lot of intact equipment to the ukranians:

Is something going on in Ukraine?

This must be "Blitzkrieg II" if this is confirmed. It seems the whole russian northern front has collapsed:

    Most accurate hunting bullet

Why not try 130gr or 150gr Barnes TTSX at full throttle? It's a complete different approach as seen in this video. It's like going from artillery to apds tank guns:

    How’d I do for $300??

The "Never again" was summed up after 5 years of occupation in WW2 by the nazies in the "Poster on the wall" that hangs on the wall in all Norwegian military barracks. A military serviceman failing to follow this will be charged for treason. This is the short version: Take up armed struggle...

    How’d I do for $300??

A Norwegian Army f**kup.. I the end of the 70'ies the Norwegian army and airforce used the P38/P1 and some P08 Lugers as their main handgun. It was discovered that the old stock of Raufoss 9mm ammo cracked the frames in the old guns. To remedy this they bought new mild loaded 9mm ammo from FFV...

    How’d I do for $300??

I was 13 years old and was hunting in the woods just outside Oslo with my first centerfire gun. A Sten mk2. On the exact same spot on a frozen lake where the underwater scenes in the latest James Bond movie "No Time To Die" are shot(!) I emptied a full magazine after a hare. I missed.. 😁

The German WW2 standard rifle ammo had a .56 g1 bc

The Germans could have used that 198gr bullet in sniper rifles chambered for the 8x68s at 2900fps in WW2. The 8x68 is designed to fit in a M98 standard action with a few modifications. Who needs 338lm? The 8x68s do not need modern magnum powders to get this performance. Norma N204 is the "sweet...

On the subject of craziest platforms ever...

In bootcamp 1980, in the Norwegian army, we found a contraption on the scrapheap that was a AA lavette for six ( or it might have been eight) HK G3s side by side in a row. The lavette had a AA ringsight and trigger in the center. Fortunatly our CO had a sense of humour and let us test it. We...

Army to buy 107,000 Sig m5 rifles, 13,000 Sig m250 LMG, total $4.7 billion contract

The SIG M5 must have some kind of wonder steel barrel to last 12000 rounds. Just for laughs, how about using the same barrel steel tech in an AR15 chambered for 17rem with 1-8" shooting 30gr AP bullets, bc .3+, at 3700fps+? Theoretically, at 500m the 17rem has the same ballistic performance as...
