Re: Loading For a Tight Bore 308 Thanks , thats about the responses I was expecting . Normal workup , look for early high pressure signs . Read somewhere that bullets with a lot of bearing surface , will hit max sooner . Hope its as fast of a barrel as I'm expecting

Re: Enlarged Primers Pockets--/ What is the cause? Hey Buzz , just because you've never experienced them , doesn't mean they are not out there . Heres a couple examples of high quality Federal brass , both on the left crapped the primer on first reload with a mild load , screwed up my 200...

Enlarged Primers Pockets--/ What is the cause?

Re: Enlarged Primers Pockets--/ What is the cause? Ditch the Federal brass in the autoloader . Federal has long been known to be overly soft , well documented in the high power community . I Had bad experiences with a long throated service rifle yacking the primers at normal load levels with...

44 mag brass shrinking in length after shot...

Re: 44 mag brass shrinking in length after shot... This is the normal , and you can see it more in bottleneck rifle cartridges depending on how loose the chamber is set ie. running 223 in a 556 or Wilde chamber can shorten 3 to 5 thousandths after firing .

Whats the best powder for 75gr 5.56

Re: Whats the best powder for 75gr 5.56 Varget is an awesome powder , to bad it meters so poorly in a progressive . XBR with the shorter kernels is a better option , and BLC-2 would be even better .

    SPS Tactical or Varmit ?

Re: SPS Tactical or Varmint ? I have the 26 inch Varmint , threaded with a brake and it is loonggg . Balance is not bad in the AIC stock with a pound and a half scope on it . The extra length , lets me load a little lighter and achieve the same velocities , lighter kick and soft on brass life...

Rifle Scopes Question on "resetting" dials on Falcon Meance.

Re: Question on "resetting" dials on Falcon Meance. It shouldn't matter where you install the knobs , that is how you set your zeros , after zeroing the scope . Once you have your one hundred or at what ever distance you zero at , remove the knob with the three allens ( Newer style ) or...

Cold Weather : Effect On Your Loads ?

Re: Cold Weather : Effect On Your Loads ? Thanks to all for the input on the subject . I wouldn't think that a max 20 feet per second difference would make much of a difference . I'm sure there are other factors at play with the issue ; ie barrel temp and harmonics , air densities , primer...
