    Why are suppressors wrapped?

No need, they have been to plenty of hot and humid places and their fine. Like I said, most will disagree and that’s fine.

    Vise?

Wilton, beware of cheap ones. As others have noted, I’ve seen them broken. Usually a crappy casting.

    Why are suppressors wrapped?

I don’t use them on my bolt guns. Everyone says mirage but I’ll say this, trapping heat still gives mirage. Its still going to escape. A few people I shoot with use them and I cannot tell a difference Sure, most will tell me I’m wrong but I done more than enough to know. But I’ll...

Rifle Scopes Issue with NightForce nx8

Just a note. I witness mark all the screws, and the scope with a paint marker. This allows you a visual reference if scope slipping or screws coming loose is a question.

    Tripod head for spotting scope

I’m looking for something on the better side for a tripod head to use with a spotting scope. I’ve seen recommendations for a geared head, but I tend to spot and move down the line to the next shooter, so I’m wondering if a geared head will prove to to slow to correct. If I do look at geared...

    What’s most comfortable hiking/shooting boot.

For Hikers, I finally got tired of my Merrills, I loved several sets but the last set left me unhappy. I’ve switched to Solomons and am really happy. I’m always happy with Asolo, they just fit perfectly. if it’s more of a boot over a mid sized hiker. I used a lot of Bates but ultimately went...

    Please, Another Quick Ammo Survey.

    TBAC Suppressor Cleaning

I have a few stainless steel cans, one in particular started puking hot chunks out of it. I tried the ultrasonic, and did get chunks out of it especially when I rinsed the can with warm water. I did not weight any of them before I used them, as I always believed they didn’t need to be cleaned...

    Rifle case question

Ok. Thanks for the clarification. Your comparing a pack vs. a drag bag essentially. Yeah. Their worlds apart in functionality. Defining the mission is the first thing, but we all understand where the OP is (kinda) coming from. We all want to buy something that will do everything, when...

    Rifle case question

I looked and the Tac Ops and the Eberlestock Drag bag. I did purchase that Eberlestock about a year ago. Care to say what makes the Tac Ops better? I’m not al all defending my purchase, rather looking for insight from someone who has both. To the OP: As stated, I have a use the above...

    Fieldcraft Advice Needed: Discreet Comms

I’ll add this: I occasionally work a church security detail, for a pretty large church. One issue is simply the noise level in the common areas. I find it very difficult to hear their radio chatter with the little FRS radios if there is no earwig for them. Just something to ponder is the...

frn0003, yes it’s possible to remove the boom mic. Just seal up the wires and the hole. Blkwfk9: not sure if it’s the same issue, but I once broke the side slider on mine. The replacement set took care of it, and they were cheap.
