Having so much trouble with this site

Re: Having so much trouble with this site Lowlight, Thanks, I'll do that. Before I was using Firefox it was slow, then I switched to FF and it was fast, now it's slow again. I'm stumped, but then I am not very PC savy

Maggie’s My local Pawn Shop is full of stupid.

Re: My local Pawn Shop is full of stupid. Around here, pawnshops and gunshows are about on the same plain. Both usually sell firearms at over inflated prices.

F T/R Competition Where should the balance point be

On my FTR setup I am curious if there is a "rule of thumb" for the rifle's balancing point? It balances now @ about 2.5" forward of the recoil lug, without the bi-pod. Using the Sinclair bi-pod and shooting the 308 Win, I have a few pounds I can add to the rifle if need be. My whole rig comes...

Having so much trouble with this site

Re: Having so much trouble with this site Thing is, it only happens here on this site. All other internet sights are very quick. didn't always run this slow though. I'm running DSL, here, "in the world", as some of my older NCO's used to say.

F T/R Competition Starting to come together

I have been piecing together a rifle for FTR shooting. I already had a Rem 700 action, Jewel trigger, Laminate varmint stock, Harris bipod, and a 6-24x40 Varmint scope. I bought a Criterion 1-10, 28" SS barrel from Jim and Northland Shooters supply with the Rem barrel nut, similar to a Savage...

Having so much trouble with this site

I don't know if I have a virus, adware, or whatever, but when I log onto this site, it is the slowest of all the sites I log onto. Only this site and not the others. This site just freezes up on me and takes what seems forever to move to the next page or topic. Anyone have an idea what's up...

Re: Which scope reticle for FTR OK, I just saw the prior post for the NX scope reticle. Sorry

F T/R Competition Bullets Brass ETC

Re: Bullets Brass ETC That is interesting. I just started load development in my rifle with almost the same loads, except using Lapua brass. 45.5 grs of Varget gives me real nice groups at 100. Now I need to shoot some distance, and hopefully my groups will stay nice. I was hoping to reach...

F T/R Competition Which scope reticle for FTR

Do to financial limitations, I'm looking into a Sightron SIII 8-32x56 but am unsure which reticle to get. I see a few used ones pop up here and there, so I do keep my eyes open.

F T/R Competition 20 MOA base and scope adjustment ?'s

Re: 20 MOA base and scope adjustment ?'s Thanks for all the helpful advice. Unfortunately most of my shooting is limited to a 100 yard range. It's about a 2 hour drive to a 300 yarder, though I may join St. Louis BR club and get to shoot a bit of distance.

F T/R Competition 20 MOA base and scope adjustment ?'s

I am putting together a 308 Win for my entry into F/TR. After installing my scope and trying to bore sight it, I bottomed out the elevation adjustment and when I shot at 100 Yds I am still about 8" high, above the POA. Is this normal. I'm thinking I may put a zero MOA base on it for finding a...

Movie Theater Why is "Dog the Bounty Hunter" allowed to live

Re: Why is "Dog the Bounty Hunter" allowed to live He's a "Hoot" isn't he? He does look silly, being a balding geriatric bad ass. But he probably makes mo money than I, doing what he does...

    removing moly from bullets

Re: removing moly from bullets I have used Dawn dish soap in a can and let them soak a while, slosh around, and that has taken it off before.

    Savage's floating bolt head

Re: Savage's floating bolt head So, the floating bolt head helps if the chamber is off center? I have a few Savages too, they shoot very well, but they both have Pacnor and Douglas barrels. I just thought they engineered them 'cause it was cheaper to produce.

    Savage's floating bolt head

Re: Savage's floating bolt head I will admit, much of this goes right over my head. Like concentricity of a reloaded cartridge. If you have a tighter chamber, then wouldn't that help true up a reloaded cartridge that might not be concentric? I imagine a big sloppy chamber wouldn't, but...

Hunting & Fishing Why shoot coyotes?

Re: Why shoot coyotes? I just enjoy hunting the little bastards. I have to admit, when I am calling them with a dieing rabbit sound or whatever, and one starts coming in thinking he is going to kill it and eat it. I do grin a little, thinking, "yea, come on in Mr.Coyote, I know something...

Are electric vehicles better than gas vehicles?

Re: Are electric vehicles better than gas vehicles? Not having read this whole post, I wonder, what do you do with a 5 year old electric car? Can you even trade one in or sell it? Makes me think of my 5 year old computer, nobody wants it. It's technology is 5 years old, and the batteries...
