Suppressor Mounting: Xeno vs Plan B Spec

Thanks for the input here everyone. Sounds like it's really hard to go wrong with any of these systems. I've decided on plan B for the time being, using a rearden atlas and fhd(gas gun) and a q cherry bomb(bolt gun). Pretty tired of timing muzzle devices, hellfire did spoil me with that...

Suppressor Mounting: Xeno vs Plan B Spec

What makes you say that the cherry bomb is bad for bolt guns? Besides wrench flats, it is a taper mount, no?

Suppressor Mounting: Xeno vs Plan B Spec

Xeno Vs Plan B spec Looking for a new mounting platform, and am zeroing in on the Xeno and Plan B style systems. This is for precision rifle, hunting rifle, and carbine use, I'm looking to standardize among some new cans, and old. Sdn-6 with hub, kgm r30, and probably a kgm r 6.5 and OCL...

SOLD New 26" Criterion MTU .308 Bighorn Origin Shouldered Prefit

Selling a brand new, never mounted or fired Bighorn Origin shouldered prefit Criterion 26" .308 MTU barrel. 1-10 twist, 5/8x24 threads, cerakote graphite black. Purchased from NSS. This was for a build that died before it became a reality, and I really don't think I'll be shooting .308 any time...

    .308 Classic Build - Bullet/Ammo Selection

Thanks for the help folks! I'll be looking into the fgmm 175 smk and 185 juggernaut, as well as the hornady eld loadings, either the 168 or 178. The 169smk is intriguing, but lack of factory ammo will probably stop me. Leaning towards the 185 juggernaut as it is surprisingly impressive, I'm...

    .308 Classic Build - Bullet/Ammo Selection

Sounds like this is pretty much it and you have it dead on. Seems the 185 juggernaut is respected and can be found somewhat easily. I'll see if that's the route I go down. It's a .308 win at the end of the day. Just want to go shoot it, with a repeatable and readily available round, while I...

    .308 Classic Build - Bullet/Ammo Selection

Lol. I'm not actively avoiding ballistic performance. Just looking for the consistent performer I know will last and is considered the gold standard. I don't want a Hornady amax situation where they get discontinued etc. So, if ballistic performance comes second to readily available, ability...

    .308 Classic Build - Bullet/Ammo Selection

I load a 6.5 creedmoor with 153 a tips and push it to a mile often enough. As mentioned, this isn't chasing performance, I have other rifles for that. Looking for dumb accurate and repeatable performance over the barrel life so I can, as mark5pt56 mentioned, hop in the muscle car and get...

    .308 Classic Build - Bullet/Ammo Selection

This is the exact reason I'm doing this rifle. Already have a 6.5 creedmoor race gun and a 6.5 prc hunting rifle. Time for a classic bolt gun.

    .308 Classic Build - Bullet/Ammo Selection

The 185 juggernaut is appealing. How fast are you pushing the 155's? All of this said...I'm looking for simplicity on this and marginal gains are the lowest on my list

    .308 Classic Build - Bullet/Ammo Selection

Is the 178 eld as good as the 140 6.5 eld in terms of just working in every rifle...ever?

    .308 Classic Build - Bullet/Ammo Selection

I'm in the process of waiting for parts for a .308 build I have in the works. It will be a bighorn origin short, 26" criterion MTU shouldered prefit, manners prs1 with mini chassis, dmr3, 419 hellfire, and trigger tech primary. My whole purpose of the rifle is to have a rifle I don't really...

    Heat: Barrel Nut vs Shoulder

Hey folks! This is not meant to discuss barrel nut vs pre fit accuracy or ease of use, just heat management and balance, as there is a substantial weight difference of similar contour barrels for shoulder vs barrel nut. I am looking to discuss heat dissipation of barrels, comparing a barrel...

    Criterion shouldered prefits

I've had one of these on order with James for a few months, and it's about ready to ship in the next month if I remember correctly. Picking up a 26" MTU in .308 for an Origin, going in a manners prs1 with double dead fill. Burris dmr3 up top. Should be 18lbs running a hellfire brake. Whole plan...

Rifle Balance - Proof Competition Contour

Appreciate the data point. When I added the 2lbs to the front of my rifle, my balance was near identical. With my sdn6 up front i need both rear weights and grip weight in a bravo. 20.5lbs and balance 3.5" from magwell. I think it'll work just fine.

Rifle Balance - Proof Competition Contour

You'll laugh but I taped loaded pistol magazines to my stock to mimic weight at the shank, with a bit of weight further forward, to the exact weight difference between barrels.....the rifle balances near identical to current, and even so far as balancing the same with/without a suppressor, and...
