Lapua Ammo Lot numbers, most important numbers to match up

ok yep, makes sense since the Long Range stuff is faster.

Lapua Ammo Lot numbers, most important numbers to match up

When wanting more of the same lot, do I just try to find the lots with the same velocity? Or also with the same actual lot number, which seems very difficult. I tested about 5 different kinds of ammo in my .22LR. Some SK, Lapua and Federal. The Lapua Long Range stuff was much better and...

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

Thanks for sharing that and making me feel better about my mistake... I wanted to gloss it over and not mention it, lol, but I know we all make mistakes, and a lot of times those are the lessons really stick. Scott

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

So I was able to get the G3 Vortex on my rifle and get to the range for a quick trip on Tuesday and a good day on Saturday, and from what I see so far I'm very happy with it. I should have waited to get it on my rifle before starting this, but I had a friend ready to take it off my hands if I...

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

I'd love to get there someday, but I think it's over 4 hours from me. One day I'll do an overnight and check it out as it looks really nice there. Atglen Sportsmens Club in Chester county is where I go for High Power silhouette, and this will be my first year in the small bore category. Scott

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

Mike, the zero procedure was at the top of the list of reasons why I wanted the Gen 3 Razor and got rid of my Gen 2. Thanks for putting it like that, finding a good balance is key. Thanks again, Scott

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

yes, actually mostly for small bore silhouette out to 200 yards, which is shot from a bench. It's absolutely overkill for that. I might shoot some rimfire PRS matches with it, and I'll take it to my 1000 yard range and try to get out as far as I can with it. I know it's an excellent optic, I...

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

Thank you for all the replies. I just need to get out with it a bit more and see how it goes, hopefully tomorrow. The zero stop was looking to be the biggest complaint about the Leica, but for $2500, that seems like something I can live with. Do you need to adjust the zero stopover time you...

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

I was amazed how bright it was. And $1900 is an excellent deal for sure. Thanks for the input. Scott

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

I like the way you think. Leica rifle scopes are just about as reliable as other high end manufacturers? Scott

Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

So I went to check out the Gen3 Vortex 6-36 and buy it with a 30% off cert, but I wanted to check out the Leica PRS 5-30x and side by side them. I expected to like them both about equally, and leave with the Vortex, which I did, but I really liked the Leica glass, more than I thought I would...

Manners ELR light stock and rear bag choice

I have an ABR on an MPA chassis and it's excellent. I still kind of prefer making small elevation adjustments by just leaning into the rifle a bit, sliding it on the wedge rear bag. Also means I should check out a bipod ext thingy, but reaching far up front to lock and unlock the levers is a...

Manners ELR light stock and rear bag choice

I ordered a Manners ELR light last February. I know it could still be another 6 or 7 months, but I just emailed to see if they have a timeframe for the batch I'm in... Hopefully we will know soon how long these are taking. I have a beast 2 being built out, and I like an angled butt stock with a...

    416 Hellfire on a 1.47" BAT CT

I believe the 1.47" is gtg for a Cheytac, otherwise BAT wouldn't sell the appropriate bolt to go along with it. I know of at least one top smith that used the 1.47" with a 9.5x77, but I absolutely understand wanting a larger receiver. Scott

    2nd Opinion (ELR Build)

How far out will you be shooting at the match? I know someone with a 300 win mag that came in like 2nd or 3rd at an ELR match. If you're squared away and shoot well with your current setup, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot it, assuming you don't have a super thin contour hunting barrel. If you...

    416 Hellfire on a 1.47" BAT CT

Thanks for the input... The 1.47" BAT CT has the minimum tenon size required to chamber a 416 Hellfire, but I'm also wondering if that's not the best idea just because it just makes it. That 40 inch barrel goes a long way to tame the recoil on your 416. Do you shoot solids in your 33xc...
