    What do you like about the Ares 4.5-27 over the 2.5-15? I didn't even think to put March on my list because of price (same reason I didn't list Kahles), but I'll keep an eye out incase one ever gets advertised for under $2k. I hear their optics are great, but I've never looked through one...

    Bottom line up front - looking for advice from people with relevant experience on optics for a .308 bolt gun and a .308 gas gun, I want both scopes to have a grid mil reticle. I am not new to the world of premium optics, but the market moves so fast I figure that there is plenty of new stuff...

    For 2K you can do a lot better than DPMS or RRA... I know that doesn't really answer your question, but if you have 2K to spend it opens up some much nicer options. What exactly are you looking to do with the rifle?

    So otherwise it's ok if carbon builds up between the crown and the baffle in the break? I guess It's an inherent issue with any weapon that had a muzzle device, you can't get to the crow to clean it...
