    Feisol 3372 and RRS TA-U-LC Leveling Head - Review/Pictures

Quick question on the tension since I've never used a leveling base. Quickly adjustable tension is a must for me. I understand that you can adjust the tension in the unlocked position using the nylock nut pictured, but can you also adjust the tension using the locking mechanism? In other...

Armageddon Gear M2010 Soft Rifle Case For Half Price

Just got mine, and damn it's nice. Coyote interior, 10 mag pouches and 2 medium/large general purpose pouches. Also got the hard case. #feelsgoodman

Single vs 2 stage for specific setup

It's really just personal preference. Like most people, I like a light trigger for precise shooting and the best way to get that in an AR is with a 2-stage trigger. But a single-stage trigger under 3 pounds is pretty damn light too and less than some people recommend on a hunting rifle.

Single vs 2 stage for specific setup

I have both triggers. The SSA-E is an awesome two-stage trigger and won't hold you back at all in faster plinking-style shooting. The Elftmann is really nice as well, but the second stage on the SSA-E is quite a bit lighter (1.5 lbs) than the Elftmann can go (2.75 lbs). For everything except...

    Order from PTG?

Just my experience, but when I placed my order for a trued Rem 700 action, I got it in about 6 weeks and was able to get someone helpful on the phone right away the two or three times I called. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them again, but take that for what it's worth because it does seem...

Rifle Scopes Anything better than the Trijicon 1-8 for the money?

For what it's worth, I just compared the brightness of the two LPV's I have on hand side-by-side with my MRO. The Steiner P4xi on max brightness is equivalent to position 5 on the MRO (one short of max) and the Meopta ZD on max brightness is equivalent to position 4. I'd rate both as truly...

Rifle Scopes Anything better than the Trijicon 1-8 for the money?

I get what you're saying and generally agree that there's a big difference between daylight "bright" and daylight "visible", we'll just have to agree to disagree on some of these specific models like you said. You also may run your red dot higher than I do. I definitely would not consider a...

Rifle Scopes Anything better than the Trijicon 1-8 for the money?

The first ones off the top of my head are the Trijicon Accupoints, the Vortex Razor Gen II, Kahles k16i, Swarovski Z6i, Meopta ZD, Burris XTR II. There are plenty more.

Rifle Scopes Anything better than the Trijicon 1-8 for the money?

I get that and agree, but there are plenty that fit that bill. None are cheap, and most won't quite match a T1 turned to max brightness (which is overkill in most situations), but there are a number that will work just like a red dot in bright daylight.

Bushnell for sure. You just missed their big 25% rebate though, sorry....

Rifle Scopes Anything better than the Trijicon 1-8 for the money?

There are plenty of magnified optics that have the same level of illumination as a red dot.

What's the trigger pull weight on your match rifle.

Makes sense. Not that hard to pull through a really light two-stage trigger, maybe I just need to up the weight a little bit.

What's the trigger pull weight on your match rifle.

Curious how many of you are running two-stage triggers and if you ever accidentally pull through the takeup when your adrenaline is up? I really like the two-stage when I'm just shooting at the range or playing around with it, but I'm always concerned that I'll pull through the break if I'm in...

Bushnell Legend T Spotter and SilencerCo Radius

I got the Gen II LRI mount for my Kilo 2200: https://www.longriflesinc.com/collections/products/products/lri-sig-kilo-2000-tripod-mount I like it better than the Sig one (which is just like the LRI Gen I) because it's much slimmer on the base and you don't need to take the LRF out of the mount...

Bushnell Legend T Spotter and SilencerCo Radius

I started out by doing this, but now I've just got the two mounted side by side on a dual mount (Amazon link here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HK0RXY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) It seems to be less awkward - I've got a mini-ballhead for the rangefinder so I can get...

    ARC Mags

Just my two cents, but shot 20 6.5 Creedmoor rounds through an ARC mag this weekend and it ran very smooth. Bighorn TL3 action. Didn't think to try my other two mags.

Carbon Wrapped Barrels - Heat Dissipation Question

Bryan Litz did a really interesting study on exactly this question in his Modern Advancements, Vol. 2. Don't have it in front of me, but if I recall correctly, the general idea was that a 4 lb. CF barrel is stiffer and better at heat management than a 4 lb. steel barrel, but that with two...

    BugNut

Just got my Bugnut and barrel in, and damn they look good on my Bighorn action. Assembly and chambering could have been done in well under 15 minutes using only a light-duty barrel vise, a torque wrench with the Bugnut wrench, go/no go gauges and a little anti-seize if I had known what I was...

    DLC recomendations

You should talk to Aaron at Bighorn before doing this. The bolt isn't just coated in nickel-boron, it also has a DLC-like coating on it as well (some sort of PVD coating, can't remember the name). I was considering having the same thing done, but the bolt should be good to go as is. Not sure...
