So New & So Lost - Please help

I have not used it but, the Athlon Midas TAC 6-24x50 mil/mil has been getting some very good reviews and seems to beat out many scopes that are twice the price. If I was in your situation, I would give it a try. That would leave you plenty for a base, rings and ammo...maybe even a bipod and rear...

Had my factory trigger down to 1.8lb but, I just couldn't get comfortable with a single stage trigger. I've shot only 2-stage for the last 40 years. Bob

Ordered the Timney 2-stage trigger last night. I was seriously considering the KRG Midas but, three things made me choose the Timney. First was the adjustment range for take up and release. By their advertised numbers, the KRG didn't go as low as the Timney. Perhaps that doesn't paint the whole...

Recommend a bag for carrying my Labradar that doesn't say "steal me" on it.

My $28 Amazon bag arrived today (gotta love Prime!). They call it a "Multi-function Military Tactical Laptop Bag". I think if it's the right color and you add MOLLE straps or a velco morale patch strip to it, it is certainly "military tactical". This bag has it all so...it's obviously awesome...

Wow, lots of feedback on this. I appreciate all the help. I ordered a padded laptop backpack from Amazon to try out. It was cheap so, it may suck. If it works, I'll share photos and details. Bob

I think I understand this. I would not use this scope for any PRS type shooting; I fully understand the benefits of FFP under stress/timed shooting conditions. I am exploring long range paper punching and that is what I would use this optic for. I normally dial my elevation turret based on my...

You should shoot it first before deciding that it needs a brake. I only recently picked up my first Tikka (a 24" CTR in 6.5cm) and I have no intention of putting a brake on it even though it came threaded. I would put the recoil with 147gr ELD-M about halfway between a .223 and a .308. Pretty...

Fair point. My local range has a lot of guys I trust but, there are usually a couple who show up looking like they are testing a gun they just took in trade for meth. Those guys are generally drawn to shiny or bright colored objects...in my experience. Bob

I'm sure the Labradar bag is great but, my trust in mankind being what it is, I would prefer a bag without the giant flashing sign saying what it is. I'm sure others have gone before me in this so, what did you settle on for carrying your labradar and accessories? It would be nice if you could...

Thanks for the feedback. That is disappointing about the reticle. I've read that their customer service is excellent so I would probably still give it a shot. Sounds like there is a lot to like about the scope. Bob

Anyone using the Timney 2-stage trigger on their T3X? I have two outings with my CTR and 180 rounds total. The accuracy potential of this rifle is probably the best I've ever owned but, I need to tighten some things up. First outing was with the factory trigger as delivered. Second trip to the...

I am seriously thinking about picking one of these up for my Tikka CTR in 6.5CM. I would go with the mil version for the center dot and the .05 mil adjustments. I know the scope is SFP and though, I have always insisted on FFP, I'm not sure SFP would be a problem for me. I almost always shoot by...

50% Off Vortex Certificate. Will sell or trade for equiptment.

How do these Vortex 50% coupons work? Are they time limited? Do you have to purchase directly from Vortex. Is it 50% off MSRP? Don't mean to derail your sale but, I've seen several of these and have passed them up because I don't know the deal. Bob

    Frustrated with Bergara !!!!!!!!!!!!

I called all the dealerships to buy a new C8 Corvette but nobody has one. The entire 2020 production year is sold out. What a terrible business model! Honestly, I appreciate that we can't always get what we want when we want it. Gives us time to look at other options and evaluate whether we...

I just got around to checking the group sizes from my second outing with the 24" 6.5cm CTR. I didn't think the gun liked the Hornady 147gr ELD-M as much as either the 140gr ELD-M or the 140gr BTHP. My suspicions were confirmed by measuring the groups but, it is not as bad as I thought it would...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I feel like I'm missing out on something without having a 6cm. As much as I shoot and the fact that I have other rifles I enjoy, that 6cm barrel should last me a couple years. Still would like to know how to tell a second gen RPR from a third. Bob

Tikka T3x: CTR vs AICS magazines

I should start by saying I have never used AICS mags in my Tikka. I do have them for my 300wm r700 and I'm not really a fan. They seem well made, the steel appears to be thicker than my CTR mags but, I don't like the feel of how they feed, I don't like loading them and I don't like the big lip...

    700 5R vs HMR Pro

Currently have four R700's in my safe; have owned many others through the years. Unless there is some kind of huge corporate turnaround at Remington, I will never buy another one of their rifles. While I agree you could get a good one, the odds are against it. There are plenty of other makers...
