    I have a 224 Valkyrie that will only cycle with a 3 oz carbine buffer and a semi auto carrier. Could it be that the H2 is too much mass for the available gas?

    It’s a dual ejector, high pressure bolt. I’ve read several post here that it’s great for the price. Toolcraft is OEM for several companies. I don’t think the Failsafe is HP.

    Damn! Bought an M1A.....

    I bought this one several years ago for $1500. From my research it has a medium weight Douglas barrel on it. It was sold to me as a National Match but I have no clue. The barrel date does closely match the receiver date. I haven’t shot it much but I was certainly surprised how well it shot.

    Your Aero bolt is likely a high pressure bolt with reduced size firing pin hole. Both the black nitride and the phosphate one are.

    I’ve never had an issue removing a barrel I’ve bedded with 271. Just stick a dowel inside the receiver and drive it out. All the Loctite stays on the barrel extension.

    You can see the seam between the barrel nut and the tube. It is NOT integral. A little heat will help separate them.
