All I Can tell you with my experience working in the firearms industry for 20 + years
It's called stacking of tolerances .
You have a high and a low .
You get what you get .
Had 2 identical T.C .Contenders 32 hr mag had to have 2 different loads
Go figure
My rifle i a Ruger 77/22 all weather that the stock has ribs that you can't bed the barrel
The receiver on the all weather has no trigger guard so a different stock would cost to much
thinking about a different way to use the POD
Well talked to other shooters they said ditch the pod .
Too much flex in the stock that changes contact points on the barrel .
So we will see go back to what worked before bags
Went to the pod for other type of shooting .
My Rugger 77/22 is giving me fits it was average steel gun and silhouette .
I will hit out to 300 meters and hit a 10" gong with cci sv
Went and added a pic rail to mount a buy pod my accuracy went out the window
The 77/22 is a all weather the only thing i maybe putting stress on the receiver ...
Many years ago i shot I.H.M.S.A. Their was a young woman who competed with a pistol S&W 617 .
They asked her dad what ammo she used He said the chepest she hast to learn how to shoot.
she won the nationals . against big money revolvers
This is something i watched a shooter do was wiping the lube of his ammo .
this shooter said this is his way if testing ammo
he must know what he is doing has the best money can by
What about ammo that is lubed .
do you start with a clean barrel ?
what is the effect if you shoot cci sv ammo after the lubed ?
do you clean it before you shoot the cci sv
Here is mine Ruger 77/22 all weather that shoots cci sv at 1/5 nra mall bore silhouette targets at 50,100,150 and 200 meters
Nothing fancy Leupold 6x18 with Hawke 25 MOA shims .It will reach 300meters no problem .
MY RUGER 77/22 ALL WEATHER LEUPOLD 6X18 WITH 25 MOA SCOPE SHIMS
Nothing fancy but it can shoot 1/5 scale NRA Silhouette target at 50,100,150,200 meters with cci sv ammo
