Range Report Light vs heavy bullets

The following 2 statements have been bugging me a bit. 1. A lighter bullet travelling faster spends less time in the wind so therefore should drift less that a heavier higher bc bullet going slower. 2. A certain bullet is too heavy for a certain case to take advantage of a higher bc heavier...

    Question on Calculating Extreme Spread

I shoot with my magneto on all the time. My cold bore shot is 100fps slower than the rest of my shots. I never discard outliers nor do I accept "flyers" or pulled shots. Its sucks to accept a shot that blows ES out but it happens all the time. I'm sure the guys loading on the fx 120i to a...

I need to reload for 6.5 Creedmoor. Can I buy just the minimum equipment for $100 and if so what do I buy??

Forgot to add I don't own a tumbler or anything like that either, all I do is clean the soot of the neck with 0000 steel wool and reload. Every 5th or so firing I might clean the whole case with the steel wool but the rest of the time I only clean the necks. I anneal by hand with torch and...

Trying f class removing muzzle brake question

Thinking of trying a bit of f class with my rifle. I would have to remove the muzzle brake which is a pain it's a Witt machine clamp on that has been loctited on. All load development and zero with muzzle brake on. I still want to be able to shoot and spot steel with the brake off. It's been so...

Thanks guys where I shoot is completely flat I shoot prone so scope is less than 30cm from grass. I'm gunna chalk up the misses due to windage calls and try next time. Stupid mirage question

So I normally shoot around 600-700m always in heavy mirage. I have the mirage fairly worked out At this distance I need to add 0.2-0.3mil more than the calculator calls for to get hits on the centreline in this heavy mirage. So today I put some milk bottles at 350m along with my plate at 600m...

Slow/Cool powder for 6mm Creed with 115 DTACs?

That chart posted on the previous page with all the burn rates I would take with a large grain of salt. Ive seen it around before and also the burn rate/heat index numbers in quickload should be taken with a grain of salt. The reason why is if you look up H4350 in quickload in gives you the...

Rifle Scopes Is the glass in SWFA 5-20HD tier 1

Thanks guys, padom you answered most of my questions there. I don't really have a budget just depends how long I want to save for. I'm in Australia and the pricing of stuff is very different compared to the US. For example Athlon scopes are relatively more expensive here vs the US however...

Rifle Scopes Is the glass in SWFA 5-20HD tier 1

Its almost impossible to find a bad word about swfa scopes, the only gripe ive heard people say is no zero stop and they don't like the retical. I already use a fixed swfa 12x and cannot fault it one bit tracks perfectly and is clear enough ( I don't have anything else to compare to for...

Rifle Scopes Richard Uttings scope reviews

Has anyone seen this guys scope reviews on you tube and in particular his 2017 long range scope review video? He is from the UK and as far a step I can tell from UK forums well respected there. His scope reviews in my opinion are excellent and extremely in depth. The question I have is he goes...

Rifle Scopes To be frugal or not when purchasing quality glass

I just wanted to say this made me smile to know there is other average joes out there like me. Sometimes when reading a forum like this where nightforce, S&B etc seem to be the standard on people rifles it makes you feel like you live on a different planet. With a wife and 3 young kids here in...

Having hell of a time with mirage!!!

Skookum I zero'd in the same conditions the previous week at 100m. Maybe it's the bright sun coming off the paddock. I'm shooting across a flat freshly cut cane paddock. You can clearly see the mirage without a scope where I shoot
