Re: What would you do? I have both and I am going to rebarrel my 308 to another 260. 24" barrel for the 260.

Range Report Przi Partizan .308 175gr? Yay or nay?

Re: Przi Partizan .308 175gr? Yay or nay? The Przi match stuff is very good, but the regular stuff is plinker ammo to be reused for your own reloads.

is it the bullet or me?

Re: is it the bullet or me? There is an old saying... 3 shot groups prove the load, 4 shot groups prove the rifle, 5 shot groups prove the shooter. By the way, good shooting.

    Seating depth

Re: Seating depth The Berger line, while expensive, is a little more tolerant of jump than the Amax's.At least that has been my experience in my .308.

Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this.

Re: Did not like the Harris or Atlas so I made this. That looks like a great solution to your problem. Having the clean, flat bottom for support and the bipod when needed.

    bought a 308 today

Re: bought a 308 today Looks like you are on the right track. The FGMM are the gold standard for commercial 308 ammo. +1 on hand loading, it will shrink groups for sure.

First bolt gun in years, need help!!!

Re: First bolt gun in years, need help!!! If you already have .308 gas guns, then step it up and go .338. The Lapua is going to be supported more, commercially, than the Edge or Norma, but they are all great rounds. +1 look for a used deal on a TRG 42.

LC Brass Case Failure 1st Firing

Re: LC Brass Case Failure 1st Firing +2 on the headspace. It could have been a weak case or a timing issue. If the case was still "swollen" in the chamber from firing and the extractor was already pulling it out, that could happen, but very unlikely.

    M1A prospects.

Re: M1A prospects. I have a standard and it will shoot under MOA if I do my part. A trigger tune is important. The only issue with the 18" barrel is it is loud with a brake or flashhider, which they all come with. Get a match barrel for sure.

    M1A - Full Length Sizing

Re: M1A - Full Length Sizing Yes that is a good place. Good case prep is also very important. I trim all my cases to 2.002, it allows for a little more leeway in loads, and I don't have to trim anymore until I toss the brass 4 loadings later.

    Question regarding temperature sensitivity

Re: Question regarding temperature sensitivity If pressure is up, so is velocity, out a few over a chrony. Does your brass chamber easily or take a little effort? If it has stretched enough, you may need to set the shoulder back a touch.

    M1A - Full Length Sizing

Re: M1A - Full Length Sizing There isn't any benefit or problem with doing it your way. Just make sure you are setting the shoulder back enough so you do not get a fire out of battery, remember the M1A has a floating firing pin.
