On the125 mm "tubes" the Russians have, thats a 5 inch target. So what happens if you put a .50 bmg slug down the muzzle? Would the round in the tube explode? Would it deform the shell so it would be hazardous to fire? How about a 308 steel round? Any...

Rifle is a m70 fwt in .308 or a Tikka in 308 or a AR10. My farmer is going to plant beans this coming spring and last time he did the deer just wrecked them awful. Ranges will be 300/350 yards. Has anyone used the Berget flatbased target 150gr on deer? I use Nosler 125 BT on deer for shorter...
Ok I'm a big CZ guy and I've got lots of Anschutzes also. I'm starting to have BIG doubts about the rigidity of the two grub screw barrel mounting system on the 455/457 CZs. With any oopsie they seem to lose zero to either side but hold the vertical. All my .22s have the same basic setup. BKL...
It is just the bolt knob. Its lightweight, won't rust, and warm to the touch. I'm sure you'll be able to get a steel knob if you like big cold heavy knobs covered in rust!;)
Yeah the orange is the smaller target. Hard to find 300+ yard ranges on private land east of the Mississippi so that is the tough "long range" target. Bigger target at 200 to build confidence.
As far as shooting off your knee......about 3 weeks after ShTF the grass/weeds are going to be so...
The gun for SHTF is a AR15. heavy bbl so you can see your hits. You won't have a spotter. .223. No lights or lazers. You clear a house with a match not your AR. A tough scope that is straight power. From 10x down to 4x. . Forget the range, practice shooting off your knee or over a log. Do some...
I'll give you $465 shipped for it if your accepting offers. Paypal F&F. My email is [email protected]..... best way to contact. I like to do personal checks too with the wait to clear.
I can't see but the but plate on the 70s of that era were steel (ouch) and was neider style with a little inset at the top heel of the buttstock. If that inlet is gone its been cut some. Nothing sacred about a white line pad. Get a newer softer thinner pad. If it kicks too hard use 135 gr ammo...
I have brittle bone disease so I have to have not much kick. Get a 308 and add weight to the stock. Put on a harris bi pod as they weigh about a pound. Get a 308 with a fatter barrel. Put a soft limbsaver pad on it. Get it up around 12 pounds. Load it with bullets around 125 gr like Nosler BT or...
PMC check the webbing in the stock that is in front of the trigger. Over half the pre 64s I look at have cracked there and it helps to repair or glue it. Even some that do not look cracked have a hairline there. Check it with good light and young eyes.
Get the DD. If your life or your family's lives ever depend on your AR you won't mind one bit paying more for quality such as the pinned in gas block on the DD.
Get the Tikka. Put a Limbsaver recoil pad on it. VERY soft. Get it in .308 and have her shoot the Hornady 125gr light factory loads for deer and 180 factory Nosler Partitions (she might run up on a big moose) for moose. If it kicks too hard for her put a Harris bi pod on it for extra weight. If...
Are you trying to save the fur? If not go for the .308. Load it with 125 or 110 bullets out of a 10-12 twist barrel. So much more capable than the other rounds. In a shorter barrel very efficient burning of the powder. Very flat at the ranges you talk about. Since your running a can lots of...
Cut corners on anything but the barrel. Bugholes.com has both Brux and Barlien barrels that you want in stock and ready to go. I would think about going with a 1-9 twist if you wanting to shoot heavies over 210+grs. Since you wanting low recoil might ought to go with something heavier than a...
