Gunsmithing Looking for a LOOOONG LR308 FFT... The longest I've run into is 15"...

that stuff helps. my concern is strength and flex... if i place an atlas out on the end of a 20" rail and my customer loads up the pod, will it flex into possibly touching the barrel or more like the gas block? hard to say really, as it depends on the part, the inside diameter, etc. so i'll...

Gunsmithing Looking for a LOOOONG LR308 FFT... The longest I've run into is 15"...

i didn't want to mess around with it, if there was a long one available out there... i know most extrusions are plenty long, so if there was a shop that built some willing to slice her off at 20" instead of 12" i'd be in tall cotton... just hoping to find one on the quick... -michael

    Gunsmithing Informal Poll

agreed... i'm no small fry... i have zero problem paying extra for a 4XLTall, but nobody offers them. if you actually get hooked up with a shirt supplier that offers larger sizes, folks will buy them since nobody else offers them. when i run onto a sale of a shirt that i don't actually gag...

    Gunsmithing Informal Poll

we did several hats and no matter what happened we'd never have the one somebody wanted in the right color, etc.. so we switched to a single color (khaki) and ran with it, and it worked much better that way. no more bitching, always had the right one in stock - kind of like henry ford "you can...

Gunsmithing Looking for a LOOOONG LR308 FFT... The longest I've run into is 15"...

I'd prefer at least one that long or up to 5" longer if possible. Anybody have a source for something like this? I have a specialty 6.5CM project and I need a tough and long FFT or rail for this application. Thanks in advance for the help. ~Michael

Gunsmithing 1911 gunsmith work price check?

we do a list of work like that all the time, and we simply charge by the hour... with no fuck around breaks either... ;) $100 an hour is our rate and that work would probably consume three hours, depends a bit on how long it took us to stone the first bit with a coarse stone. after the...

Gunsmithing Accurate Mag DBM the same inlet as the Badger?

Just a quick FYI... According to Accurate Mag their product fits well directly into the "M4 Badger" inlet. While nobody said it, I suspect the exterior dimensions are nearly identical. Thus, if you have a program for you machining center to rocket right through the Badger, you'll be able to...

150F is about it... i split a manners T4A right down the middle when i set the temp wrong and left it too long... wasn't an issue with the stock, i just cooked it, plain and simple. H series is the way i'd go.

The BEST parade I EVER saw.... Westcliffe CO - 7-4-13...

My company, specifically me, came out hard against Colorado at the time they were pushing their magazine ban initiative. I was mad, and I still am about that depth of foolishness. I was prepared to write off the whole lot of them afterward, as they managed to pass this nonsense into law. I...

Gunsmithing KRYPTEK Camo... I wasn't sure at first...

that's part of it sometimes... often times people respond to the 'camo' they prefer as they awe it over from 18" away... as far as i'm concerned, they can have what they want... after all, they're paying for it. however, when asked, i have an ethical obligation to answer honestly. when i...
