How to tell incomplete powder burn?

I guess I only have two chances to figure it out.

How to tell incomplete powder burn?

Other than seeing a flame, is there anyway to know if all the powder is being burnt up in a barrel? I'm thinking for 16"-18" barreled 308s. No point in working up loads if not all the powder will be burnt in the barrel (?)

CZ 453 Varmint .22 Advice for Ring and Rail?

Well, I though it would be a 452 American, but in my endless and frustrating search for discontinued CZs I was lucky enough to find a 453 Varmint- I get old school CZ accuracy, two action screws, and the heavy barrel! I never dreamed I would find one of these rifle's new in stock. The seller...

Rifle Scopes Leupold MK AR MOD 1 4-12x40mm P5 AO for a Rimfire?

I am considering the Leupold Mark AR MOD 1 4-12x40mm P5 Dial with Adjustable Objective and Mil Dot Reticle for a CZ 452. It has the features I am looking for: Mildot and mil turrets, adjustable objective (although I would prefer side option), and magnification range. Since it is going on a...

Reply from CZ: This agrees with the other response from CZ posted on RFC in an old thread. I will be cutting my barrel.

Anybody cut down their CZ 452

So is potentially removing 'choke' really that bad? I mean none of the center fire barrels are choked (that I am aware of).

Anybody cut down their CZ 452

RFC... You speak of the devil Ben! :D Exactly where I discovered 'choked' barrels and controversy. Apparently CZ has been contacted and even quoted in one of the threads over there. CZ states 'No choke,' but to muddy the waters, the UK CZ distributor has also been quoted as saying, "Never cut a...

Anybody cut down their CZ 452

I was planning on cutting down a CZ 452 to 18" to better replicate my primary rifle. I didn't think much of it, but I've since been told they are 'choked.' After some searching on the internet I've learned that no one actually agrees if they are choked or not. So has anyone cut down the...

    Rifle Scopes NF 3.5x15x50 F1 or S&B PMII 3x20x50

No kidding. Glass is better, sure. Durability? On this site alone, I don't think I've yet seen a thread yet on a smashed NF. S&B and Premiere do have a few....

    Rifle Scopes Scope Ring Question

Mark 4's are heavy. Personally, I don't see the need for the excess weight.

    Seekins vs Nightforce rings

I like the NF UL's and use them on all my rifles. Other than the nut on the side they are about as slim and low profile as possible. Much less chunky than the MK4's I used to use. I have never had an issue with any of the ones I've used, but for what it's worth, I also use Nightforce scopes. I...

Rifle Scopes Swarovski rifle scopes- What are peoples' thoughts about durability?

Thanks for the feedback. Esternnchunter- Hard to believe the NF glass is that bad compared tot he Swaro. I own a NF and have looked through many Swaro's but have not had the opportunity to compare side by side them. Threetrees, that is exactly what I wanted to hear. My rifles get dragged with...

Rifle Scopes ffp optics at most 14 inches long

Leupold has big Mil/LEO discounts. Maybe that's why some people have different views on prices (?)

Rifle Scopes Swarovski rifle scopes- What are peoples' thoughts about durability?

I know Swarovski rifle scopes do not have the features (mil/mil, ranging reticles, etc.) typically associated with scopes used by the members here and that probably explains why they are not often discussed (?). Members here do put a priority on durability of scopes and this is my question...

Rifle Scopes Sightron SIII vs NIghtforce

My first scope was a Sightron SIII. I upgraded to a Nightforce NXS. I honestly found the Sightron's glass distinguished colors better and was maybe brighter too. The Sightron had great turrets and was reliable. That being said, I could see what I needed to see just as well with the NF. The NF...

    Rifle Scopes Scope Ring Question

I like Nightforce UL's. If I need lower rings, than Seekins is the answer.
