    Re: starting load ??/ Rem 700 R5 .223 I dont have a load for that particular rifle..but I have always had great luck with Win 748 in the 223, maaybe start around 26grs or so with a 50gr bullet and work up to around 27grs.

    Re: New scope on the Varmint I have a 452 Varmint in 17HM2 very nice guns, I went with the Leupold rings and put a 3X9 Leupold scope on her, I have one of the V16s on a centerfire and they are very nice scopes, great looking rifle and groups by the way.
