    Re: 1 in 10 twist barrel As stated by LWUSMC, twist is not a factor of weight so much as it is dependent on the length of the projectile. It just happens that heavier grain bullets of the same caliber tend to be longer therefore most people say a "heavier" bullet needs a faster twist...

    Re: Birdsong Finishes As noted above, the finish is very thin overall as it supposedly binds/sinks into the porous metal. Very close tolerances are able to be held after application of the finish so you can do all fitting/machining and then send it all off for finish.

    Re: Birdsong Finish? Heard of it? longrange30, Birdsong finishes work very well for what they are intended to do. Your choices are black, green and FDE. They had a tan but it was supposedly difficult to deal with - not sure they use it still. The finish provides corrosion resistance as well...
