    Re: Smart move or total f**k up? These are great rifles and shoot good. The stock is a little heavy. Shooting PD's with a 308 ain't much fun though. The trick is to watch them die in the scope. 308 will recoil off. But this set up will work fine for now.

    Re: 178 gr amax for hunting In 2000 I shot an antelope with a 178 a max out of a 308 bear. Shot through the shoulder and turned to soup on the inside. A max will come apart after penetration. Thin jacket. He dropped dead at about 275 yrds. Killed a mule deer this year with a 30-338 win...

    I shoot 300 grain HPBT bullets and all my dope is centered around that bullet. Does anyone recommend a hunting bullet? I have not found a 300 grain but have found some 275 grain hunting bullets. Or has anyone have good kills or performance on game with a HPBT?
