    Based on my not being able to drop a bullet into a fired case the neck was obviously too tight for the chamber. I would think an off the shelf Bartlein barrel would not require neck turning..didn’t make sense..For me it made more sense to just turn the necks than send the barrel out..Ray

    I would try some factory rounds to see if they chamber and shoot. If the factory rounds chamber and shoot you know it is your reloads. If the same issues continue it is the rifle. ?Ray

    I would get a good scope first..one good enough to move to another rifle/action. Any money you put in to a Savage only upgrade, such as a chassis system will prove to be a waste of money. If you are on a budget a Ruger or preferably a Tikka would be the way to go. Ray

    I also use Redding bushing dies. After I anneal the brass, I use a bushing .001 less than a loaded round and after sizing the brass run a K&M expander mandrel through them. For instance for any 6.5 the bullet is .264. The expander mandrel is .263 and allowing for spring back .001 I have .002...
