You know you're shooting long range when:

Re: You know you're shooting long range when: when you drive to the highest altitude you can reasonably find and then shoot from the roof/bed for extra altitude.

    Take off barrels

Re: Take off barrels Factory barrels generally contain stress due to the way they're manufactured (cheap) so expect POI to shift if it gets really hot (rapid firing). Run Tubbs Final Finish bullets through the factory barrel and then just shoot the hell out of it with minimal cleaning...

    Rifle Scopes Nightforce blurry

Re: Nightforce blurry OP - do you wear eyeglasses by any chance? I found that even if everything is adjusted right, shifting your eyeglasses (e.g. up or down your nose) affects clarity.

    Tula primers for .308 ??

Re: Tula primers for .308 ?? Tula is great when the brass primer cup is loosening up, like you said its a bit thicker than CCI, Rem 9 1/2, and 210. They're consistant and I haven't had a misfire yet after 2500 reloads.

any one ever use these bullets

Re: any one ever use these bullets IMO the projectiles on gunbroker are good to go, like what others are saying - slight to little difference in accuracy compared to beand new but at a fraction of the cost. With respect to the above Widener's bullets, those aren't M118LR rounds nor are they...

    1000 yard hits

Re: 1000 yard hits Just so I understand, I read somewhere that the bullet initially flies in a corkscrew pattern (like a soap suds spiraling down a drain) for the first few hundred yards or so. So this notion of "falling asleep" basically refers to the point where the bullet loses just enough...

    1000 yard hits

Re: 1000 yard hits The way I see it its comparing apples to oranges. Sniperaviator says: math for 1 moa rifle shows on average it should group roughly 14.1 inches at 1000 yards. Tom Sarver says: my .2 moa rifle groups consistently tighter at 1000 yards than 100 yards. If this were a...

Re: Cheek Weld with Bell and Carlson I had the same problem which is why I went with a Bell and Carlson A2 (no cheekpiece) and got a Karsten cheek rest. The benefit with Karsten is that its kydex plastic so you can mold it to your cheek with just a small heat torch. Apply the heat. torch to...

DAMN YOU REMINGTON, and your innacurate rifles

Re: DAMN YOU REMINGTON, and your innacurate rifles Also, other than accurqcy, the finish was pretty crappy. I had to sand down the bolt body, feed lips, magazine edge to stop it from scratching up my brass. I also had to dremel the bolt lift arrea to smoothen it out. Overall the action was...

DAMN YOU REMINGTON, and your innacurate rifles

Re: DAMN YOU REMINGTON, and your innacurate rifles Wait till you swap for a quality stock with proper bedding, lap the lugs, quality scope base and rings (I lapped my scope rings) then you really have a shooter. My SPS-T currently shoots .35 moa with handloads (shots done at benchrest) and...

Re: Military Pull down 175 grain Match bullets I just got some pulled m118lr projectiles which are 175 grain SMks. They have slight pull marks and light scratches. Will load up a few and shoot them over the weekend. They're coated with something sticky (grease?) anyone got ideas to get it...
