Need help with jamming in barrel

Mark your cartridge with a sharpie and chamber it. The rub marks will tell you where it tis too big. then you can take appropriate action. I wouldn't do anything until I knew what was wrong.

Pressure signs on 300 Win Mag.

That sounds like a hunting load, do you really want to chance it when hunting? Try IMR7828 or Reloder 25....7828 looks like it is available.

Developing a load, got a question before I start

Swap brass to keep all the same headstamp. Why do it all twice? I would pick one and sell or trade the rest.

    223 dents?

Yup, from an HK fluted chamber. You could reload it and it will pop back out, being it is plentiful, sometimes it is best to add it to the scrap bucket. Maybe that is why it wasn't picked up by the guy that shot it....

    match 308 die

Rockchucker press. Redding makes some nice bushing dies as does Forester. Use good components to make good ammo. I like the Redding Micrometer seaters, especially when working up a new load with several different bullets and or seating depths. use a hand primer to feel primer seating. Adjust...

    Advice for first-time 5.56 reloader

Crimping is a matter of taste in an AR. Some do and some don't. Any brand of dies will work, A small base die is designed for use in an auto like the AR. It sizes the base as some brass you find may have been fired in machine gun with a larger chamber to ensure any round will chamber and fire...

    powder funnels

They fit brass very well, don't wobble or leak powder. I load in batches so it is nice to not have to hold the funnel over each case, they sit there nice and steady.

    Starting a new load

I would never use some internet guy's load recipe without backing it up to be safe by published data. Use the powder company's data or the bullet company's data. I like to look at everyone's data. Start on the low side, and work up, looking for pressure signs at half grain intervals. if...

    buying reloading gear

If you buy 2 each shell holders, I assume 1 for your press and one for your priming tool, do not interchange them. Mark the one you will use on your press and always use it, there could be a difference and it could affect your sizing and seating depth. Buy another manual, I recommend the...

Groups go to CRAP after trimming brass

Do you have a neck die? If so run your brass through it after you trim, to restore the proper shape and tension. Try groups again. Ain't this fun! Not being funny, but do you have the correct pilot for your trimmer? Mic it to make sure it is not too big or too small. I am sure you will find that...

    20-250 load data

A 52 grain Speer Hollow Point will not shoot through a coyote. If you are going to sell the fur, you will eventually find a load that you can settle on. With a 300 yard Zero, you will have to hold over, almost with any bullet. I sight mine in 1 1/2 inches high at 100, it is just a hair low at...

Reloading old Ruger M77 220 Swift

The Swift is hard on brass. I have had 3 of them and the brass flows to the neck. Neck turning is mandatory. My latest I had reamed out to a .220 Ackley Improved and neck life is much better, They have all have shot well with 4064 and a 50 Sierra. The AI likes a 50 Vmax and H380 though. I bought...

Help me choose the proper dies

Get a Fl sizing die and a Micrometer seater die. I like Redding, but Bonanza and RCBS are good too. You can get a neck die with bushings from Redding too. All good stuff. If you get a neck die, you will still need to FL size every now and then,

Question regarding crunched case neck with a 7MM BR Remington case

You could be crimping or your brass got too long causing it to try to crimp. Check your brass length after resizing, then check for seater die adjustment.

3rd or 5rd groups and how many?

I use 3 each 3 shot groups and average them. 9 shots of the same of each group. has been working for years.

    New to the forum

I would shoot a group with each load you tried here. Groups will tell you more than a single shot at each weight. look for vertical stringing to flatten out and FPS to flatten out also. They should coincide.

    Powder for .22-250

Well, nobody has said IMR3031 yet, so I will 35 grains behind a 40 BT works good. So does H380, and I like Varget too. H4895 does well with a heavy bullet. If you have Varget, give it a shot.
