Hold off bumping shoulder as long as possible?

Re: Hold off bumping shoulder as long as possible? Screwing the die in and out is the only way of adjusting the shoulder bump, (or using competition shellholders, same effect, altering how much case gets pushed into the die)

    40grn Nos.Btips 22-250

Anybody use/have used these with varget? I've been dropping foxes for several years with 55grn ballistic tips, And recently 52grn amax.. But curiosity (and boredom) I fancy working on a 'screamer' load for my 22-250, See how fast I can push them while keeping Minute-Of-Rat to about 300yrds...

    Redding & Cancer Survivors

Re: Redding & Cancer Survivors Great idea, will these be spreading to all the major retailers? My eldest girl loves to pinch and wear my hats around the house, I would be more than happy to get one of these for her and help the cause!

    Vihtavuori N550 Powder

Re: Vihtavuori N550 Powder Vman, I get 2730fps with 47.2grn vv550 behind a 178 amax, Lap brass, cci BR-2 primers. I switched from varget and got an extra 100fps for the same 'just below pressure limit' Cleaner burning, and easier metering than varget. I like it, but havnt shot it thru a hot...

Question : Changing powders when shooting. True?

Re: Question : Changing powders when shooting. True? I've read this before too, However, I always start with a clean barrel when doing load development anyway, so can't say how much effect it has on .308 win. I do notice a slight difference on my 22-250 though, Switching bullets from 52grn...

how much variance when seating ?

Re: how much variance when seating ? Happy Christmas everybody As much as 5-10 thousands may make a slight difference, it all depends on how forgiving your recipe load is in your rifle.. Less than 5, I wouldn't sweat it, as your not loading on the lands, I typically get +/- .001 with my...

    Vihtavuori Powder

Re: Vihtavuori Powder It works out cheaper over here, a 2lb tub is cheaper than x2 1lb tubs of any other, And I also find it cleaner burning FINALLY it appears that I can buy a component cheaper than you chaps! If only Viht would start producing road fuel...

    Non fire formed brass accuracy

Re: Non fire formed brass accuracy The 'accuracy' bit comes from load recipe and consistency, So if your using quality brass, you've got a degree of consistency out the box. If all your rounds are prepped and loaded the same, you should be fine, Factory match ammo isn't fire-formed after...

    Hornady Concentricity Gage

Re: Hornady Concentricity Gage I havnt had the quality issues with mine that cobra has done, I did cross check the rounds with a different gage, rolling them on a v-block, And both dials agreed with each other over 10 randomly picked rounds, That was good enough for me, so I've trusted mine...

    Neck Tension Question

Re: Neck Tension Question Which bit are you concerned about exactly? Your fps spread? Or the difference in neck tension between the different dies? By design, the Lee neck collet die (if that's the one your referring too) Puts minimal amount of tension on the necks, about .002" Your FL die...

Re: Hornady Concentricity Gage I have also owned this for a while now, and find it a great tool also, The pros and cons of pushing the bullet straight versus altering neck tension has been discussed previously on similar threads about the tool, But in a nutshell, I ran some tests at 500...
