    30-06 still relevant?

Probably does not make much sense, but I picked up a couple hundred Nosler RDF 210gr bullets from Midway today. I say that because I do not have immediate access to anything more than a 600 yard range at the moment... and even that is going away once the cotton is sewed in. But with a G1 BC of...

    30-06 still relevant?

My M1 has not been very kind to my HXP cases; the rims are chewed up (by the extractor) on some them to the point my shell holder gets stuck to the case... a little rotation, and they come out, but irritating nonetheless. Right now I am experiencing a little anomaly with the 175 Nosler RDF...

    30-06 still relevant?

Nice shooting @pmclaine, I really love the `03 Springfield you have there, she is a fine example. I finally carved out a little time last night to start loading for the 30-06; 175gr RDF over H4350. My rifle, a Rem 700 Long Range, has not been fired yet, but once it has started the break-in...

    3D Printing Reloading Trays

3D printing is pretty accurate, it is the shrink rates of various materials that can be tough to manage.

    3D Printing Reloading Trays

Exactky, I bought my printer for rocketry use, and found it more useful in almost everything else I do. There are more uses yet undiscovered... right now I am mostly playing.

    3D Printing Reloading Trays

Material costs are low; I am printing in a gold PLA material. The 2lb. reel of PLA costs $20 at Amazon, and as of right now I am printing my 4th tray, with enough material to print at least two more. Like many of you I wanted to get into 3D printing for quite a while. As a day time mechanical...

    3D Printing Reloading Trays

I was relaoding some 308 and 30-06, and I quickly ran out of my blue Franklin trays. So I jumped on Thingiverse and found where someone had modeled up some Franklin trays and loaded them to the website. I needed a new printing project, and I needed more trays, so 3D printed my own. The major...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

GenII's strike a good balance between the Gen's in my opinion. On my GenII I have only changed out the pistol grip for a more ergonomic grip, otherwise I have been completely satisfied with the stock configuration.

    30-06 still relevant?

I have come full circle in looking for a new bolt gun to toy with, and I have pretty much decided `06 is the caliber of choice. Nothing to serious; a Rem 700 Long Range; HXP surplus brass; Nosler RDF 175gr. I'm not a hunter, just a recreational paper puncher... glad I found this thread!

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

As well as coming off the bench and going to prone on the mat, I am also bailing the vertical rifle case in favor of a drag bag; something like the Eberlestock E2b. Would you guys have another recommendation for a bag? Scratch that, looks like I am looking for a nice Plano case of some kind...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

For my 308, I just picked a few hundred Nosler RDF HPBT bullets (175gr) that I am going to give some development time to. With a stated BC of 0.536, I felt they were worth a shot. Shooter's Pro was selling over runs today.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I am barrel chested, and I am afraid that a 6-9 is not going to give enough elevation for me to comfortably get behind the glass. I have been looking at the 9-13 in Harris options, as well as the Atlas 7-13.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I guess that 9-13 or there abouts, can get kind of leggy? ...maybe even unstable depending on the weight of the rifle? I am looking at Harris, but will not rule out other quality brands.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I managed to get out on Saturday and put about 70 rounds down range with my Gen II in 308. The first 50 were some light hand loads that I made up 3 or so years ago for a rifle I no longer own. They were 148 grain BTHP. I used them for bore sighting and the the rest just to do initial barrel...
