    80 percent lower help?

Not familiar with 5d tactical jig, but have used Broken Arms jig & tooling with great success. Could be the jig is out of spec or cutter not vertical. Probably functional In spite of cut-thru. OFG

SBR Form 1 vs Pistol Build

“Once a rifle, always a rifle”. 14.7” with pinned & welded muzzle device looks like a legal 16” rifle. Therefore the lower can NEVER be a pistol lower. So either do the SBR & 5320.20 paperwork or buy a separate pistol lower. OFG

SBR Form 1 vs Pistol Build

[QUOT] Not needing a 5320.20 is the gayest reason for going with a pistol instead of a SBR. Form 5320.20 is no big deal, have done several. But - in most states your SBR has to be transported unloaded and not assessable (In the trunk). if you have your CCW permit a pistol can go loaded and...

Ejector circles (pressure) from high primers?

    300 BLK OCW workup

Multi MOA is shooting suppressed off hand with an Aimpoint PRO and rubber crutch tip on end of buffer tube (Yes you can get a good cheek weld). Main use is for a truck/tractor gun. Could put the upper on a SBR lower for the stock and mount a 1-4 optic in place of the red dot and use a JoyPod...

    300 BLK OCW workup

Agreed for sub MOA bolt guns but this is a multi MOA 8.5” pistol. OFG

Ejector circles (pressure) from high primers?

You said it yourself. The primers are ABOVE the case head. I uniform all my new cases and some are a real chore and take several cycles to clean up. Use a chip brush to remove the cuttings from the uniformer between cycles. High primers may or may not cause the ejector marks but are a real...

    300 BLK OCW workup

Doing an OCW workup for 300 BLK supers with a 8.5” pistol. Usually shoot OCW at 100 yards but thinking 50 for this. Any reason not to? OFG

    BRN-180s no go

Ok, how many rounds till “broken in”? 300 BLK is a bit hard to find right now so not wanting to burn through several hundred rounds on the hope that it will eventually run 100%. Even dies are backordered and powder out of stock. OFG

    BRN-180s no go

Didn’t check for loose barrel. Only ran 70 rounds of Unicorn teeth thru it and the light/no primer strikes, a half dozen, were random throughout. IMHO it was very “under gassed” if that applies to a short stroke piston. The one shot with it set on setting #2 failed to cycle at all. Only tried...

Interesting that the thread is gone. 300BLK pistol with folding brace would be the bees knees. OFG

    BRN-180s no go

Really wanted BRN-180s 300 BKL to work. But wouldn’t run with FOG 220 subs. Called vendor and was told to try different mags. 11 different mags from 4 manufacturers same results. One round & FTF, at most 4 rounds then FTF. Also several light or no primer strikes. Lower is 100% with Hardened...

22 Nosler beating the hell out of my brass

The Varget mention was pretty far back and my memory isn’t what it once was. As a matter of information I load 107 grain bullets with Varget in my 260 and H4350 (slower) for 130 and up. Generally heavier bullets do better with slower powders. OFG

22 Nosler beating the hell out of my brass

Yes in this day & age we have to pretty much use what we have on hand. H335 is a flattened ball powder, not stick. I have always had good 223 results with Varget (#108 on the chart) a stick powder. IMR 8280 is a short stick powder. Good luck with your loads. OFG

22 Nosler beating the hell out of my brass

Interesting - IMR 4064 is #101 on the burn rate chart and H335 is #86. Curious as to why you’re going to try a faster powder? OFG

Light primer strikes with JP bolt assembly in LMT MWS

Was getting a few light primer strikes with light trigger & hammer springs in a 9mm PCC shooting Tulammo steel cased. Same rounds fired just fine in another PCC with “standard” springs. OFG
