    DPMS .308 rail question

    I was looking at UTG rails and they can be found for cheap. My question is: if I get an aluminum tube free-float .308 or .260 heavy barrel upper, can I swap it out for an AR-15 UTG rail set? Thanks.

    Re: DPMS AR-308 uppers I called Rguns and they said chrome-lining is 1960s' tehcnology. Does that mean they just don't stock lined barrels or is chrome-moly good enough to neglect the chrome? My DPMS 5.56 barrel gets pretty nasty after about 20-30 rounds, I thought 308 would be even worse.
