Yea hoping the smith honors his work, he's been around since 72 in the same shop.... I'm meeting hum sat just glad nothing bad happened over 200 rnds down. Smith 2 also said he was able to integrate the barrel witg the lever and o tools it was thay bad.
So i had a barrel installed at a local shop. well recently i wanted it recountoured and when the new smith took it apart he gave me a call saying the firearm is NOT safe due to the threads. Im going back to the smith who did the work but id like to know what the specs on the threads should be so...

that shiny ring is from the primer pocket uniformer, the flat part uses the base of the brass to set the depth so that spinning on there causes that ring.
Im going to try and make the next match but its prob unlikely as my uncle passed and his celebration of life is may 3rd in santa maria. Next match i attend ill bring the go pro if its alright with the base/sponsors and get some video as well. I will be at each match that i can in the future tho...
ok as far as measuring bearing length (was looking at the reloading stickies) he measured the bearing length using 2 of the inserts. so same concept as long as im consistent i should be ok?

i never understood why these soldiers are trusted with the most advanced and destructive weapons on the front lines (talking artillery and such) yet are trusted with even a sidearm when stateside.
I have 2 338 lapua inserts, the hornady measures .327 and the sinclair .337. Based on the data on the lapua wiki these measurements line up with the hornady measuring till the bullet touches the lands and the sinclair measuring touching the grooves.
Now the question - Which is the proper...
love my mcrees and a huge +1 for customer service. He answered the phone when we called as well and was able to help us fit the CIP mags in my lapua to his stock (minor inletting required) he said we can send it in or we can do it ourselves its super easy and he walked us through it. few minutes...

I came across a site that has military loads listed, they say 26grs of ramshot tac, but the Ramshot site has 25gr as a max.
