Night Vision Picked up TNVC WASP and want to explore the idea of adding a dovetail shoe to work w/ Wilcox Flip Mount

Not sure if the WASP is to heavy for the Wilcox Flip Mount as it was designed for the SKEET/UTM. The UTM weighs approx 18 oz and the WASP is about 28oz. The WASP has a LaRue DOS Mini QD mount. Like my other post about wanting to add a dovetail to a PVS14 I am just looking for the ability to...

Night Vision Looking for best option to add a dovetail to a PVS14 AA battery model to work with Wilcox Flip Mount

Looking at the Wilcox AN/PVS-14 Helmet/Weapon Mount Shoe or the RQE OSS - Obverse Shoe Set 1/4-20 Weapon Mountable Bottom Shoe. Problem with the RQE seems to be that it only comes in a set. So you have to buy the float mount along with the weapons mount. Anyone have experience with these to say...

Night Vision Why is leaving batteries in thermal and NV devices such a big no no?

Not sure if anyone else saw it but I had mentioned this to another member here that there was a PVS-27 for sale on eBay for $2,500. The issue was someone had left the batteries in it and they leaked. He showed a picture of the corrosion inside the battery compartment. While the seller said the...

Night Vision FLIR T75 Advanced Combat Thermal Sight-Long Range Has Finally Arrived!

It has been said that the quality of the day scope when using thermal is far less important as you are bascially looking at a TV screen image. Day scope glass quality is more important when using a Clip On Night Vision scope as light tramsmission is a key factor.

Night Vision ITT nigthvision mounted on riflescope?

The monocular is not meant to be placed in front of the day scope. It belongs behind the day scope. What caliber is the 700? PVS-14's are designed for up to 5.56. They might take 6.8 but someone else will have to chime in on that.

Night Vision Pvs 15 thermal overlay

Do you have the VO (viewer only) model or the weapons mountable unit? If the VO model I do not believe it can be used as anything but a hand held viewer as the housing does not have mounting holes. If the Weapons mountable unit the only thing I have read is that it is LE/ Mil only. I know...

Night Vision Looking for a shade and Night Vision Module for a McMillan VisionMaster 6-16x80 VM80

Call the "OEM" Seiler Instruments 800-489-2282 or Aurora Tactical the main dealer at 479-751-8136 Seiler told me that the 6-16x80mm version was dropped from the lineup but the NV module is the same. If I were you I would dispense with the 6-16 and go with the 2-10 version.
