    Primer Seating Depth?

For years I have been using the Lee handheld primer seating tool and tray with good success. Recently, I purchased the Sinclair priming tool just for my match brass. What seating depth do you use when seating primers? I am loading Federal 210M primers into a Lapua .308 Win case. The Sinclair...

    Wilson Seating Die Problem/Question?

I plan to do a load development work up on a new rifle build and have ordered the Wilson Seating Die so that I can make seating adjustments at the range. Some folks have stated that they have had trouble seating Berger VLD bullets deep enough with this seater. I know that Wilson has made a VLD...

Trying to understand seating depth and accuracy

Re: Trying to understand seating depth and accuracy Tripwire- Excellent post up! Thanks. I use Quickload and OCW for working up loads. I have two custom 10 twist .308's I use for F Class at 600 and 1000 yards. I shoot Berger 185 LRBT's with good success. I can load for a slower node at 600...

    .308 175GR ; Berger Tac vs SMK

Re: .308 175GR ; Berger Tac vs SMK I said goodbye to Sierra's a long time ago. The Bergers are superior in every way. I shoot the Berger 185 LRBT because both of my rifles are 10 twist barrels. .010 to .020 off the lands works well. If I had a 12 twist, I would shoot the Berger 175 BT's over...

Rifle Scopes 10X or 16X for 200 yds

Re: 10X or 16X for 200 yds More magnification enhances shot placement. But...... You are talking a variable scope, right? You need lower magnification for closer in tactical targets and movers. When I zero my rifle, I use 42x. It gets me established where I want to be.

Range Report 100y vs: 200y zero....

Re: 100y vs: 200y zero.... I zero at 100 only when I change optics, rings, etc. After that, I go to 600 yards and rezero and leave it there. I only shoot 600 and up.

Ever noticed length deviation in berger bullets???

Re: Ever noticed length deviation in berger bullets??? Jumping tangent ogive bullets will not notice a couple of thousandths unless the difference has some seated just barely off the lands and some touching. Load .010 to .020 off and don't worry about it.

    .308 Primers

    Case Trim Question

Re: Case Trim Question Different case lengths equal different pressures, release times and diminished accuracy. Unless you are shooting in the 2's and 3's, or shooting extreme long range, a couple of thousandths won't make a difference. Just stay in spec.
