I have heard you can change the timing on the way it throws... I didnt find this info in the instructions... How do I figure this out and do it? Can someone give me a link with the info or fill me in... I have two of them I run at the same time and they are both set differently..
your barrel twist and max length will tell you a lot... I'm guessing you will need to shoot 120gr-130 gr bullets... With the 260 remington the standard chamber is made for those bullets... many people shoot the heavier 140's... some do ok... but the correct chamber for 139,140,142 gr bullets...
I dont think I would be worried anytime soon.. smks like jump more than bergers though from what I have seen. I run bergers in most of my rifles... but some wont shoot bergers worth a flip and hammer with AMAX bullets..
I would love to know how to reprogram the speeds... can someone PM me this info... I use two of them at the same time... I've never had problems.... I just notice that I have to recalculate the scales here and there with the weights to get it back on perfect... the feet on it need to be...
first off I would reconsider the who build first if your really wanting to shoot 1000 yards or more... a 308 isnt the caliber you want... The 308 is just extremely popular because it was a military round... The actual ballistics of a 308 suck. The 308 variants that were derived off the...
By all means I think the 284 is a great round. I want to build one myself. My opinion here is 1- throw the barrel you got on there and get some practice reloading and shooting it... It is too short to get the ballistic performance of a true 284, but it will still shoot. for a 284 you want a...
Lapua brass.... 4831sc was my next first choice...
I tested some loads above 41gr of h4350 but I could not get groups worth a crap... it seems to shoot the best at 41gr.. I want more out of it too... thats why im looking at options... may just not like this powder... who knows. .
I have a custom built 260 tactical - 260 rem with a deeper throat to seat 140 gr berger vlds... 1:8 twist - 27 or 28 inch barrel..? I forget. I'm shooting 41 grs of H4350 right now that gives me the best groups.... Yet it is not as consistant as I want with grouping, and it will not shoot...
Spend the money now if you can and grow on the rifle. Better then buying a gun learning more... then turning around and buying another gun... do what your budget allows.
I havent taken it as far as I can. Still load developing in my 260 tactical. Best so far is 140 bergers.. target vld or hunting vld... 41gr H4350 lapua brass and federal match primer... it shoots good, but is not hole for hole out at 200 to 400 yards so im not exactly happy yet. What makes...
I dont use hart. Neither does anyone I know. I know nothing about them. I know I could get an action trued $100, new barrel, kreiger bartlein brux say $350, barrel install and chamber $250.
Depends on how stuck you are on hart...
