    I am collecting parts for a 6.5 X 284 build, and assumed that a long action (Rem 700 vs short) is best. I have a single shot - OAL for cartridge in this rifle is 3.055" ( 139 Lapua Scenar ). Just got a Surgeon DBM / LA for build & seems like ALOT of room in the mag. ( made for 300 Win Mag)...
