    Re: competitions in Texas? That one is full. Rifles Only, Tiger Valley, Tac Pro all have yearly comps. There are also smaller comps all around. Seeing that you are out in TT country, New Mexico has matches from time to time.

    Re: Re barrel to 7WSM 8.7 Rock is taylor made for the 180 bergers. Any 8.5 from a maker like Krieger, Bartlien, Schinder, ext.. will fit the bill just fine.

    Re: All around cal for yote,lion,exc..... With your parts list and bolt face I would screw a 284 together. You can load it down to 120grs or up to 180 depending on what you had in mind. After that it would be a toss up between 7-08 or 243.

    With the leaves dropped and the cold here we finally started seeing some shooters. Both were taken with my 260 and 139 scenars. Once again, I'm one proud Daddy. O ya, I got one too.

    Re: school me on the .243 My 243 only lasted 1600ish rounds. I was standing on it though, running 3150 with a 115. Shot more than one match at tacpro with it, and they do like the heavy strings of fire. Mike I'm not sure what other matches your shooting but RO is not known for barrel burning...
