    Gunsmithing Barrel Vise

lmao!!! What is this the new snowflake Facebook? A dislike because the vise that was suggested, I bought and wound up with several marred barrels? Sorry if you have a vested interest in that vise but it doesn't do near the job of the viper.

Gunsmithing Length of indicator tip for chambering

Man I appreciate the kind words about my rifles. I agree with you about there's more than one way to skin a cat. I know that 99 percent of the people that will shoot a rifle I barrel won't be able to realize it's accuracy potential simply because they don't practice enough or have bad...

Gunsmithing Length of indicator tip for chambering

I'm with you though Terry, I'd rather start straighter and have the piece of mind and know I chambered it as perfectly as I could.

    Gunsmithing Problem with my trigger/action

If you've got access to a mill, I'd relieve the contact areas. You may be putting it in a helluva bind when you're torquing it down and not realizing it.

Gunsmithing Length of indicator tip for chambering

Terry, I'd think that a 2.75" indicator would be sufficient for most all cases wouldn't it?

Gunsmithing Changed barrel, now headspace issues.

Did you measure the difference in case protrusion from the "good" barrel to this one? Whoops just saw the post regarding my question. If you have a depth mic, throw it on and see how much difference there is

Try just using the go gauge, get it to where it just closes easily, then take a piece of cellophane tape and trim it to fit the back of the go gauge. The tape should be .002" thick. Perhaps the gauges were cut incorrectly?

Gunsmithing Length of indicator tip for chambering

Gunsmithing Trued remmy 700 won't cock

Yessir, that clarifies what I was thinking. I understand what you mean about the pe not being the fix etc but the point I was making is that the pe on these actions are shit and that the trigger wouldn't reset without manually pulling the bolt body back a smudge manually on the trued receiver...
