    Buying a plane after retirement

OK, a freight feeder then, turboprops, FTW! Actually a Caravan job would probably be the fastest route. After 35 years being paid to do this and 41 with a certificate, GA is where the pain is. I have been to more funerals for GA pilots than I care to remember.

    Buying a plane after retirement

At 56, you'll have 9 years left that the FAA would let you exercise the privileges of an ATP. Take 2 or 3 years of that retirement and fly for a regional, for the fun of it. Then, walk away, and enjoy the skillset you developed.

Savage 110 Scout vs Ruger American Ranch in 450 Bushmaster

Ruger American Ranch, far better action. Also the Ruger is listed as 1-16 and the Savage is listed as 1-24. Yeah, I've got both Savage and Ruger American rifles. Ruger offering the Ranch in 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor makes for what would be a nice inexpensive throwdown hunting rifle for around here.

https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/CLX9877 this is a FlightAware track for the flight number in the story. Anywhere near gps jamming and spoofing, the ads-b tracking websites lose all relevance. Many years and a few jobs ago, we were taking B744 freighters for a Cargolux contract Hong...

Ideal .223 Bolt Action Plinker (?)

Meh, early Savage 223 F/TR (7 twist) with a T-36 Weaver off a Harris shot everything put through it well, from 50gr Zombie-Max to 80gr Berger VLDs. The Bergers were shot at the 1000 yard line and good for 90-92% 60 round matches while I was starting my wind reading adventure. I've had a pile...

    Boeing down in India

Knew a Sandy pilot that said he and some of his buddies poured themselves into their planes to shoot back when Tet started. How damned inconsiderate of them to start an offensive when you're off duty and drinking.

    PortaJohn

https://cropking.com/products/co2-generator Why would greenhouse operators buy devices to spew the stuff? It's fun when I'm around agriculture in European countries to see all of the greenhouses with CO2 concentrators. You'd think that shit'd be illegal over there.

How do you note your rifles current zero setting when storing a rifle?

I learned about trajectory, windage, and holdover from a Red Ryder. Also, about ricochets from the steel beer cans we shot at after the adults drained them, having used a church key to open them. I was counting clicks up on a Garand long before I used a scope that could be dialed. Even longer...

    AI - ATX LE

An over-run of short uppers that will fit both the AT-X and AT-XC would probably turn into a quickly sold out group buy. I'd be in for two. Raw would be fine, the rattle can doesn't need to know.

    Presidential Plane Kerfluffle

Having flown the 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7, with some MD-11 thrown in for good measure, I prefer the redundancy. I'll wait for the 2 hour takeoff alternates for twins. Said in the best of humor ...

Nothing says First World quite like needing to buy used, out of production, airframes for State Aircraft.

Missing from all of the commotion about the Qatari 74, is the fact that Boeing only makes light twin airliners now.

Yes, thanks for the info on the app. Who knew my Cinco De Mayo was going to be so good with these finds. The app even has a dial-a-velocity function.
