    AICS. VS Manners

Re: AICS. VS Manners Nope, just drop it in and torque it.Has it's own DBM...thats one of the things you need to look at also when you compare them.AICS is a complete system, whereas with any stock such as Manners (I have 2 love them) you need to factor in which DBM you will want.BTW I have...

    Brass for 300 Win Mag?

Re: Brass for 300 Win Mag? Sometimes it works out like this, but overall I'm glad for the input at least it gives me some ideas.Think I'm going to try Hornady as I've yet to hear much negative.I wish Lapua still made it also......wonder why they stopped?

    Reduced .338 Lapua Loads

Re: Reduced .338 Lapua Loads 88gr of H1000 is the lightest load listed, that and a good brake will do about all you can to minimze recoil. He may be better off with another caliber....

    Crushed shoulder when seating bullet

Re: Crushed shoulder when seating bullet I may be wrong, but I think that variation is caused by imperfections in the tip of the bullet. You will probably need what is called a meplat trimmer to get them all perfect.I don't think those few thousanths will make a measurable difference.

    Brass for 300 Win Mag?

I'm going to be loading for a new 300WM build shortly.I generally use Lapua brass in everything except my gas guns ( they beat it up too bad) but I see Lapua no longer makes it.I was considering Hornady but I don't have much experience with it.What would you guys recommend as far as consistancy...

Chase even more accuracy or get in the field?

Re: Chase even more accuracy or get in the field? Well, I suppose if you wanted....you could load up say, 5 each in various lengths and go see where your grouping ends up.If that was me I'd call it a day and go spend the time pulling the trigger as they shoot good enough for me.Some bullets...

    Reloading 50 BMG

Re: Reloading 50 BMG You might try a different lube for case resizing.....it does matter with that big case.I have tried many, and so far a light coating ( wipe it on with a paper towel) of Mobil 1 synthetic oil I find gives THE lowest lever force. You will be amazed at the difference....

    Crushed shoulder when seating bullet

Re: Crushed shoulder when seating bullet Simple solution....screw the die in until it touches the shell holder, then back it out 1 turn. Now when you seat a bullet you won't bottom the neck on the collet.

    My first bolt action build

Re: My first bolt action build Looks like a good first choice......however you'll probably need another job soon to fund the next couple of rifles once the disease spreads ! Good luck and post results after your range work....

    Reloading 50 BMG

Re: Reloading 50 BMG I have the Lee and it works fine.Their "non standard" threads are only for the .50 die set, they give you an adapter that allows most any other caliber die set to work.Hard to beat for the money...

49.5gr Varget - 155 Lapua Scenar - on the lands???

Re: 49.5gr Varget - 155 Lapua Scenar - on the lands??? That's a pretty stiff charge! If you have no pressure signs launch it, but I'm wondering what you get for MV and how long your brass lasts. In my Savage I'm using 46gr and getting 2900...

    Savage 10 Expectations

Re: Savage 10 Expectations My Savage 308, with the load it likes averages around .50" @ 100 yds most days when I'm in the groove.I've just had the Mcmillan stock pillar bedded so I'm expecting that to improve slightly. Not that you suck at reloading, you may not have found what your rifle...

Sav or Rem action to build

Re: Sav or Rem action to build I recently went thru this same issue of what to build on for a 260.I compared prices for a similar build on each action and they were within $100 of each other.I have both Savage and Rem and like each, there are no losers here.I ended up going with a Remington...
