    Dashcam on your personal vehicle?

Re: Dashcam on your personal vehicle? Yes - I have done it. Not so much as backup in case I get pulled over, but more just to commit to film (pixels, rather) of all the idiotic stuff people do on the road on a daily basis. I just used a small handheld HD camera and made a little dash mount...

Rifle Scopes Weaver 5-20x50 FFP as an upgrade from a SS 3-9x42?

Re: Weaver 5-20x50 FFP as an upgrade from a SS 3-9x42? ORD - OK, that is good info, thanks! I wasn't sure about the 55 MOA being the total adjustment range but it makes sense. I can see that this scope will probably be fine for what I'm doing, but if I were to go to lower elevations or shoot...

Rifle Scopes Weaver 5-20x50 FFP as an upgrade from a SS 3-9x42?

Re: Weaver 5-20x50 FFP as an upgrade from a SS 3-9x42? OK, just so I understand this better. I'm shooting .308, mostly 168 gr. BTHP, and at the altitude where I usually shoot (5000 ft.+) I can shoot out to 1000 yds, but probably not much further. Typical drop for this round at 1000 yds (for...

Rifle Scopes Weaver 5-20x50 FFP as an upgrade from a SS 3-9x42?

Re: Weaver 5-20x50 FFP as an upgrade from a SS 3-9x42? Thanks for your input. I don't mind the plain mil dot reticle - it's what I have now. The only negative comment I heard is not very generous vertical travel. However, I'm using a 20 MOA base, so I don't see a problem there.

    Maggie’s Favorite movie dialog's

Re: Favorite movie dialog's This watch was on you daddy's wrist when he was shot down over Hanoi. He was captured and put in a Vietnamese prison camp. He knew that if the gooks ever saw the watch, they'd confiscate it--take it away. The way your dad looked at it, this watch was your...

Rifle Scopes Weaver 5-20x50 FFP as an upgrade from a SS 3-9x42?

I've been super happy with the quality of the SS 3-9 FFP mil/mil scope. However, I've been shooting out past 200 Yds more often lately, and intend to do even more coming up in the future. The 9x max of the SS seems to be somewhat of a limiting factor. I've been looking at the Weaver 5-20x50...

Who has gotten this stupid scam email?

Re: Who has gotten this stupid scam email? Yup - I've had one very similar to that for a couple of different services over the years. Same basic approach: they send you a bank check for over the amount, then ask that you wire the difference to a 3rd party. Even if the approach doesn't get...

Looking for a little input from other parents

Re: Looking for a little input from other parents I've been teaching my daughter firearms rules & safety, and now she's started shooting a .22 rifle. We started with Airsoft, shooting targets in the garage - good opportunity to learn about eye safety, gun handling, etc. I agree with you -...

    Hard case vs Soft

Re: Hard case vs Soft For me, hard case for storage, soft case for when I have to carry the rifle any distance. Plus the soft case doubles as a shooting mat.
