Re: I don't really know how to describe this... I was into "potato" cannons a few years back. Preferred combustion types to pneumatic... here's the last one I designed/built: a 1" bore, breech loading design with metered propane combustion. Later on I changed the barrel for a Sch. 80 one for...

    How to handle classified situation

Re: How to handle classified situation Sounds like it might be a 419 scam. It will be obvious if you receive the MO for more than you asked... this will lead to the buyer asking you to wire a 3rd part the difference. The MO will turn out to be fake.

shot my .308 for the first time today

Re: shot my .308 for the first time today I have a very similar setup to yours although based around a 700 LTR. Same stock, Badger bolt knob, similar rail and rings. For a scope I've been happy with the SWFA 3-9x42 FFP mil/mil. I agree that more magnification would be nice, but as it is I'm...

    Trigger for your bolt gun

Re: Trigger for your bolt gun I have a Jewell trigger on my Rem. 700 LTR and I like it a lot. It is very consistent and no creep at all. I have it set for 2 lbs which for me is working well.

    torque on aluminum bedded stock

Re: torque on aluminum bedded stock I have a 700 LTR in .308 mounted in a B&C Varmit/Tac stock. The LE armorer who originally built the rifle gave me a sheet with all the torque values he recommends for the rifle. For the main mount screws: 65 in/lbs.

Re: precision rifles... show em I've got a pretty humble smoke pole compared to most in these photos... but.. but... it's only my *first* one 700 LTR in .308 with B & C V/T stock, CDI bottom metal, Badger bolt knob, Farrel scope rail, Burris rings and SWFA SS 3-9 FFP Mil/Mil scope.

New to the Hide (long) and Thanks

Hi everyone - I'm one of the noobs around here. I've lurked since probably September or October of 2011, and already learned a great deal from all of you. Thanks for all the great info, by the way! I started shooting when still a kid in the 1970s, and took the hunter safety training course way...

What's with the all false "In-stock" companies?

Re: What's with the all false "In-stock" companies? Yeah, that is a pet peeve of mine, too. I've taken to calling beforehand to check specifically whether or not they *actually* have it there, ready to ship. If not (and I need it quickly) I look elsewhere. It can be very annoying.

Has anyone heard ordered from Area 51 Tactical?

Re: Has anyone heard ordered from Area 51 Tactical? Not sure of the legality of charging your CC before your order ships. This may vary by state but most reputable companies don't do it.
