    It should be at the .400" diameter part, thats the datum point for the headspace on this cartridge. Look at the drawing you linked too, you'll see .400" there...

    Badger shows a larger counterbore on theirs http://www.badgerordnance.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/306-90_91_92_Extractor.pdf I have a BHI (stiller), they suggest a .720" counter bore. Works great. I just did a Deviant, they taper the end of the extractor and you don't need to open it...

    Gunsmithing Few questions... Now that I'm having a new barrel put on.. Anything else??

    Honestly I wouldn't mess with a gun that shoots so well.... Before I was building my own rifles I had a few that just had the barrel chambered. No truing- or anything else. They shot great. One was particularly amazing If you aren't fully committed to 260 you may want to consider 6.5x47 lapua.

    Gunsmithing 308AR POI Shift

    I'll take a shot at this- but may be off. Typically any shift in POI is attributed to some sort of stress, contact point, uneven surfaces, you name it. That said, is the barrel nut seated against the upper? You can lap that front surface (I have the 223 tool- which wouldn't help you on a 308).

    Gunsmithing Straight vs. Spiral fluted reamers

    Dave Manson told me that the straight flutes are easier to sharpen and measure. He spoke for a couple hours last year at the Gunsmithing Conference and Career Fair (awesome event if you can swing it) and addressed spiral and odd numbered flutes as methods to overcome chatter IIRC Brownells...

    If you don't mind me asking, how do you hold the muzzle end of your barrel? You do excellent work. I have 4 or 5 bolts helically fluted bolts from you. Thanks
