Gunsmithing Gunsmith in the Houston Texas area

Aaron has built 4 rifles for me: a .223 (by far, my favorite rifle), a .260, a .243, and more recently a 6x45. ALL are hammers, and all were done in a very timely manner and with a competitive price. I am running my 223 this PRS season, where applicable. For me, the cost is not the important...

    6x45

Ok guys, a quick update. The rifle is completed and generally shoots sub 1/2 moa at 2900 fps. This barrel seems to only shoot the 95 smk really well with a kiss in the lands, as the groups open up the more I jump the bullet. Still tweaking on it a bit...will keep you posted.

    308 win 155 Sierra , is 3000 fps possible?

Re: 308 win 155 Sierra , is 3000 fps possible? That's an extremely tall order for a 22" barrel. I was at 2925 out of a 24" Bartlein via 8208xbr.

Who has large & small r ifle primers

Re: Who has large & small r ifle primers The tula's from PV are good to go. I bought 15k Wolf SRM from Wideners for $14/1k, along with all of their 8208xbr, just one week before this panic hit...thankfully. I'm stocked to be able to shoot just fine for the next year and half to two years...

    Southwest Airlines and rifle cases

Re: Southwest Airlines and rifle cases I fly with Starlight cases, and tend to stick with SWA if I can. Like Rob, I've had zero problems, and the length has never come up at all. I also flew with 4 loaded AICS mags in the case...they didn't even look, thankfully. SWA is a great airline for us...

Atlas or Harris bipods... And why

Re: Atlas or Harris bipods... And why For speed, I like the Harris 6-9, notched, with a KMW Pod Loc. I have two atlas bipods, and they are very well made, but I prefer my Harris for competition shooting strictly for the speed.

223/223AI best powder, (almost) 2013 edition

Re: 223/223AI bestpowder choice, (almost) 2013 edition Tough to beat 8208 for velocity, temp stability, and easy metering. It's magical. Varget is a close second, and I have a bunch of TAC for "just in case".
