Great point. Our firing line is set up so the line runs through the turret of our scopes, another piece some folks miss. (do not measure from the muzzle, you adjust/measure for the turret) We put up a rather large paper target at our firing line. We drive out to our targets and range back...
Our process is simple and has worked on many rigs. We run ZCOs so unless I see something really wrong we do not do tracking test. Have yet to see an issue with any of them. First we verify zero at 100. We make sure it is 100 yards too, not 101. We verify the data in the Kestrel. We shot a...
You need to be more specific with load, powder, bullet, speed, reloading process / bump, etc. I run Alpha in 3 rigs without issue and do not have issues running 109s at 2930 or 115 DTACs at 2850.
N160 works with heavies. My QL profile with 115 dtacs has max at around 38.5 and 37 is 2845 and 99.9% burn. I don't think it would work well with 105s but I have never tried. N150 and RL15.5 are my other go to powders for the gt. I tried N555 too, and it works but it is a full compressed...
I am getting real bummed. I have been using VV powders for years now, got tired of waiting on H4350 etc and now all you folks are looking for alternatives to the over priced H powders. Bastards going to make my secret well of powders disappear! I hate you all.
All the VV powders are a bit dirty, some more than others. N160 is dirty but not terrible. We clean every few hundred rounds too, 150 to 300. The GT seems to be susceptible to carbon rings and we do not want to deal with that so we clean more frequently.
@RangeDay I would try N160. It is a bit faster burning than N555. I have run it with 115 DTACs and it is very close to H4350 as far as load / speed. The other really good powder for the GT and 105s is RL15.5
Discussed in this thread. You are likely getting noise from the other electronics plugged in the outlet. I isolated mine and grounded it and all issues went away.

The only time I had those issues was with N570. My V4 runs everything else just fine. The vibratory thing you mention sounds like an issue. Mine does not do anything like that. Maybe you got a bad motor/ V4.
Yes. 2750 to 2800 is common. If I recall correctly the 6.5 creed was designed to run a 140 at 2750, may have been 2700 to 2750, but those speeds are normal.
an XCEL formula. Input powder burn rate (heat of expansion#), diameter, charge, pressure, bullet weight and it gives you barrel life est. You get the data from quick load and a trued profile for a rifle.
